Nice - Cupcake Inspirations #593 has a vibrant color challenge for us this round - yum! I thought at first I'd do some crazy flowers for this one, but so close to the catalog rolling over, I didn't really see any sets I liked for it, lol. BUT, I spotted the rain boots in my Garden Meadow set - I can't believe I've never used them before! Don't they look cute in these bright colors?? I dug through my scrap folders, and found this dotty sheet of Flirty Flamingo for a background, so I layered it up on Pumpkin Pie with a layer of White in between to set them apart. I actually found this sentiment already stamped and cut in my dies - I think leftover from a class, lol. It still works! I next stamped and colored three pairs of wellies - in Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade - I think it's growing on me! I left the little white trimmings alone to pop against the colors! What a fun card! Garden Meadow Stamp Set; Flirty Flamingo DSP; Basic White & Pumpkin Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie & Poppy Parade Blends Markers; Garden Meadows & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Pumpkin Pie Baker's Twine; Orange Shiny Sequins; #CIC593. Gorgeous! AAA Cards #264 has a lovely sketch for us this round - yay! I have to confess right up front - it took me three tries to get this card to a place that made me happy, lol, and I almost never design that way either! I've always been a warts-and-all kind of blogger - when something doesn't quite go how I imagined, I tend to forge ahead anyway, and then call out some things I might have done differently on retrospect - because I want you to see that it's ALWAYS a process, and sometimes the process is bumpy! Not today, though... I first started with a white-on-white Stitched layer for the stamping, then tried the twiggy wreath in a couple browns. Sigh. Cutting down for a layer was too tight - it didn't look right! But first I tried it on a colored layer, in Fresh Freesia, still no good, sigh. So then I went for stamping straight onto the card base, and then, I stamped off two more times with the wreath to sort of soften it up a little. Then I was able to pop dot my flowers, and add the sentiment stamped on Freesia - whew! I did finish with a few Brass Dragonflies just because - maybe perhaps a little overboard for the AAA brief! But I made it, lol! Encircled in Nature Stamp Set; Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Early Espresso Ink; Granny apple Green, Daffodil Delight & Fresh Freesia Blends Markers; Brass Dragonflies; #AAA264. We want to see your nautical themes this round at Retro Rubber #230! I totally couldn't resist pulling in my all-time favorite sentiment from 2015's Adventure Awaits for this one (even IF I maybe already even did a Retro card this year using it, shhh, lol!) Just the ultimate nautical sentiment, and good encouragement to boot! I matched it with my equally favorite nautical DSP pack By The Shore, which I have been carefully hoarding since 2016, lol. I just love this stuff, and it's so lovely over the Very Vanilla! This is the very last bit of these pretty stripes, and I even snuck in the very last bit of the awesome fishies on the envelope! The end of an era, though I still have some other scraps and three full un-cut sheets left of the pack, bwahahaha! I also gave this card one of my two remaining Sail Away Trinkets - getting close! I can't wait to see YOUR nautical themes this round - meet you at the challenge, and don't forget to make it RETRO (at least a year old or more!) Adventure Awaits Stamp Set (retired 2015); By The Shore DSP (retired); Very Vanilla & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Circle Collection Dies (retired); Night of Navy Baker's Twine; Sail Away Trinkets (retired); #RRCB230. I got started by selecting my stamp set first - Everyday Details is just so pretty, and I have some time to make up with this one still, since I got it so late, lol. Today I went with the pretty floral tea cup, and I floated it all over a sheet from the retired SAB pack Flight & Airy - first time using this one - yikes! Anyway, such a delicate floral pattern on the paper was perfect to go with this pretty cuppa, and I love the dies for my stamped panel, as well as the smallest one for my sentiment! As the name implies, perfect little details! I can't wait to see YOUR floral projects this round - meet you at the challenge! Everyday Details Stamp Set; Flight & Airy DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Boho Blue, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Everyday Details Dies; Iridescent Pastel Gems; #MMM225. Festive Friday #158 has an inspo list for World Collage Day! There are definitely some fun choices! As usual lately, I kept it pretty simple, but I managed to pack in quite a few choices I think! I layered some dotty Bubble Bath DSP over Early Espresso, after tearing the border of the DSP - such a cool look! Then I did up a matching flower from the gorgeous Happiness Abounds bundle from 2023 - I came so late to this set, it still feels very new to me, lol. I also doctored up this pretty banner for the birthday sentiment, and finished with some Gold Sparkle Gems - just so pretty! So that all got me Brown, Pink, Metallic Elements, Paper Tearing, Flowers and Birthday Sentiment - whew! Happiness Abounds Stamp Set (retired 2023); Bubble Bath DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Blossoming Happiness & Pretty Pillowbox Dies (both retired); Gold Sparkle Gems; #FF0158. Time Out Challenge #262 has the CUTEST photo inspiration for this round - look at all those Disney dogs! This pic SO reminded me of our wonderful Pampered Pets suite from 2022 - I so loved everything about it! I still have a little bit of everything from it, too, so I pulled out all my goodies for this one! I started with a great background from one of the doggy DSP sheets in the Playful Pets pack (there are awesome cat sheets, too, lol) and then added a few supplemental dogs from another sheet while I was at it! Based on the cute bag, I pulled some scraps from my old Plaid Tidings DSP pack, too, for a little trim, and the envelope. Finally, I couldn't resist a little dog bone trinket to finish things off - the perfect doggy treat! Pampered Pets Stamp Set (retired 2022); Playful Pets & Plaid Tidings DSP (both retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pets & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Black Baker's Twine; Playful Pets Trinkets (retired); #TOC262. We need a card for Mother's Day or another special woman! I'm so thrilled that I have a super sweet step-mother that I get to send cards to, now, lol, and I was just tickled thinking about her while I made this card! Welcoming Window is definitely an under-used set in my collection, but I still love it! So many fun things we can set in the cutest window, and so I have lots of flowers for Karen! Pretty greens and yellow, with Boho Blue trim on the cool window - love it! A few butterflies add just the right finishing touch! I can't wait to send this to her! So peaceful - AAA Colorful #3 is back with a new color board for us - like a gorgeous sky! The pretty color board made me think of our new Under the Moon set, so I used that "water" stamp from that to make my background - I love how it came out! I chose Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink to carry it off then went hunting for a good sentiment to finish with. It's been so long since I stamped with the Courage & Faith set, I knew right away I wanted to ink this beauty up! I finished with a few Petal Pink gems, keeping it super simple! Fun! Under the Moon and Courage & Faith Stamp Sets; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink Inks; Petal Pink Solid Faceted Gems; #AAAC3. We want to see some ribbon or twine this month at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #160! A festive set I haven't used in a while is the yummy Sweet Candy Canes - I even still have some of the DSP! I definitely wanted to do TWO canes, and I wanted them to contrast with the background, so I planned my choices accordingly, lol. I went with this dotty Real Red background, and some fancy green and blue canes - so pretty! I added a big red bow front and center, and finished with some Silver Sparkle Gems - just the right touch! I can't wait to see YOUR projects this round - meet you at the challenge! Sweet Candy Cane Stamp Set (retired 2022); Sweetest Christmas DSP (retired); Basic White & Pool Party CS; Real Red & Garden Green Inks; Candy Cane & Tasteful Labels Dies (both retired); Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon; Silver Sparkle Gemsl #SCC160. I'm LOVING our layered landscape sketch this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #437! Today I felt like building a little beach scene using our super fun Beach Day bundle - I am so thrilled by the adorable images in this one! Let's me get my coloring on, too, lol. Anyway, I went hunting for some likely DSP scraps for the bottom detail of the sketch, then went to town with my life guard shack and surf board. I finally got to build the little palm tree from the dies, too - my fave palm tree so far, I swear, lol. I couldn't resist finishing with some Whale of a Time Sequins, too - those little seashells are perfect! I can't wait to see YOUR beautiful creations for this one, too - meet you at the challenge! Beach Day Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Summer Splash & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Beach Day & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #HSS437. |
