![]() We're back again on Pumpkin Day with My Pumpkin Challenge #0415 - Sew Pretty, Sew Simple! Let's see what we can do with adding in this week's sketch from In{k}spire Me #194, too! I had "sew" much fun last week making a Christmas card, I decided to try hitting another event. This week it's Mother's Day, with a little help from the Crazy About You stamp set. I truly believe that set is the perfect partner with this month's Paper Pumpkin! I decided to go with some of my fave colors together, and then found a perle cotton from my stash to match. (For those interested, this is UKI's 5/2 Melon #107! I always seem to gravitate to the "food" colors, lol.) I doubled it to make the stitching pretty robust, and broke out the rest of the sentiment onto banners to match the sketch. I added a bit more depth to my flower by alternating full and stamped-off layers - snippy-snippy today! Tip: Check out the masking on the envelope - SO much easier when we have a punch, lol! Paper Pumpkin - Sew You; plus, Crazy About You Stamp Set; Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS; Calypso Coral & Pear Pizzazz Inks; 5/2 Perle Cotton in Melon; Flower Medallion, Banner & Corner Rounder Punches; Basic Jewel Jumbo Pearls (retired.) April 21-June 2, 2015 (or while supplies last)
We're saying goodbye to retiring products from the 2014-2015 annual catalog, but before we do, we're giving everyone an opportunity to order their favorites with discounts up to 50 percent off retail. Retiring products will only be available until June 2, or while supplies last, so now's a great time to get them before they're gone! We're also including the My Digital Studio list, with all products discounted 30 percent off retail. *Note: Due to high demand for retiring stamps, we'll keep producing retiring stamps until May 26 (not accessories-accessories are only while supplies last).

![]() I really like this clean landscape layout at this week's SU-per Challenge #82. I know I only just squeezed in my top layer by doing this, but I decided to leave my card as a standard card base, so I didn't have to make an envelope, too. So lazy! I'm still happy with how this came out - these colors play so well together! I even remembered to put a white panel inside against the dark base. I know JUST who I'm sending this to! You're Wonderful Stamp Set; Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Garden Green, Calypso Coral & Pistachio Pudding Inks; Corner Rounder Punch; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() Mother's Day Corsage Class I am so excited to announce this class - and I'm THRILLED with how our project came out! You will be, too! This month we will be making a beautiful corsage for that special lady in your life: Mom, BFF, inspiration in your life (maybe even yourself - you deserve it!) - to wear again and again. The corsage is made up with a sample of each flower type in the gorgeous Build A Bouquet Project kit from our Occasions Mini catalog, and comes with a hat pin and stopper for fixing in place. I have prepped each kit for us, and divvied everything out ahead of time to make this class ride on rails: I'll be working right along with you to help further explain all the tricks I learned along the way! Class is announced for Thursday April 9, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, or Saturday, April 11, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. Class is $20, and includes all supplies and instructions, plus snacks, drinks and a gift! Just bring your usual kit, and a hot glue gun! Let's enjoy it with this sweet color challenge at Fab Friday #59, shall we? And look at that, this week's sketch at Can You Case It? is a #59, too! Let's throw that in there for company! So, looking over my Sale-A-Bration sets, it occurred to me I haven't used this sweet little bird yet. I got to thinking, how would I color this birdie with this week's challenge colors? Is it doable? Why YES it is! At least, I think so, lol... The rest is kind of an assemblage of elements I had in the right colors - pieces of DSP from a couple places (is it snowing where my birdie is?) some ribbon, you know, you do what you gotta do! In the end, I really like how it came out! Can't wait to see you over at Fab Friday! A Happy Thing Stamp Set; Lullaby & Best Year Ever DSP; Whisper White, Blushing Bride & Hello Honey CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Blushing Bride, Hello Honey & Calypso Coral Inks; Circles Collection Framelits; Banner Punch; 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in Blushing Bride; White Gel Pen. ![]() Hello Life Kit Class March 12 or 14! OK, yes, I KNOW that isn't a picture of our awesome upcoming class project made with the Hello Life Project Kit! See, I had a late brainstorm, and started, and then changed tracks again - we're making a St. Patrick's version for our first go! I'm just finishing up a few tiny details, and will have a gorgeous picture for you very soon! I promise it's totally cute! So, class is announced for Thursday March 12, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, and Saturday, March 14, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. AND, because this is Spring Break week for so many of us with school-agers at home, please do just let me know if we can arrange a make-up class for you if you're interested - it is of course no problem! Class is $25, and includes your kit plus all supplies and specialty adhesives - just bring your usual stampin' kit to help out. Snacks and drinks will be standing by, as well as a gift from me! RSVP to reserve your kit today! ![]() Here's a fun sketch at this week's Retro Sketch #155 - love this large focal shape running off the edge! I knew I wanted to give that "off the edge" element a try, so the first thing I did was cut my card base down to 7 1/2" x 5 1/2", and scored across the short side at 3 3/4". This would give me 1/2" of space to run off the top edge, and still fit in a regular envelope. All that worked out, I went hunting for my image. I settled on Blended Bloom, and, well, got out my most recent blendies. I feel a little bad about it, because I know that SU! has turned off ordering for these while they complete investigation of some quality issues even more recently uncovered. This thought reminded me how blessed I myself have been to not have had any of these issues, so I next went to Banner Blessings for my sentiment, lol. See how my mind works? So for everyone still chomping at the bit over blendies, remember the thought celebrated on today's card, hee hee, and recognize SU!'s love for us in turn, while they work on making our experience a better one all 'round. Hang in there, dear ones! It might take a while, but I feel sure that Blendies Will Return! Blended Bloom & Banner Blessings Stamp Sets; Old Olive & Whisper White CS; Park Lane DSP; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pink Pirouette & Daffodil Delight Blendies; Spring Flowers Embossing Folder. ![]() Hello Life Kit Class March 12 or 14! Let's see if this gorgeous inspiration pic from Just Add Ink #250 brings anything to mind! OK, who am I kidding - of course I went straight for Perfect Blend, lol. Though I cleared most of my kit out for treats for my bug's friends, I have some pieces left for cards, just big enough for the fussy cutting that really makes this coffee cup shine! I feel a Starbuck's run coming on... I think it's time to trot out the super-sweet Painted Petals suite to go with! My dabble in Wild Wasabi went so well yesterday, I decided to go for it again. I have to say, the "painted" papers in the Painted Blooms DSP set are truly gorgeous. I chose the leafy page to be my background (and on my envelope flap!), and inked up some flowers in Blackberry Bliss for my floating panels. Everyone knows I love the green-and-purple color combo, right? I needed a little something to fill in the corners of my image, so out came my trusty Beautiful Wings embosslits, since I thought the new Butterfly Thinlets would be too large, sigh... The embosslits did let me sneak on a touch of bling, though - yum! Painted Petals Stamp Set; Painted Blooms DSP; Wild Wasabi, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White & Daffodil Delight CS; Wild Wasabi & Blackberry Bliss Ink; Beautiful Wings Embosslit; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() Birthday Card Class Feb 12 or 14! RSVP now for your spot today! ![]() This week's Merry Monday #141-Cristmas Critters sure is a cute one - how to choose? Answer? Don't! Let's use them all! The gorgeous Nature's Peace actually has a few critters in it, and my only task then, is to highlight them! I'm actually on the fence about this card. It truly does look better in person, because the gold-emboss just doesn't photograph well, sigh. But even with the touch of color on my critters, which are then pop-dotted in place, it still comes across as a bit monochrome. I thought about a splash of Old Olive with some twine or ribbon, but in the end I decided to leave it off - I couldn't get it to come out symmetrical, gr... You'll just have to take my word for it's sparkly-ness! I think I'll add in Can You Case It #49, too - what a great way to help help us add that little something extra! I had to trot out another new set, and um, some other goodies, too, for this one. So much to love! Here we have another SAB set - this one is called A Happy Thing - check out those cute lemons! (Wait'll you see the adorable little bird in this set, too!) I did some strategic masking to really expand the lemon, which really there's only one on this stamp... Did that come out weird? Ah well, you know what I meant! I also got to use a new Blenda color - there is now a Wild Wasabi assortment, along with Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay - yum! A Happy Thing (SAB 2015) Stamp Set; Whisper White, Crushed Curry & Pear Pizzazz CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Daffodil Delight & Wild Wasabi Blendas; Brights Button in Old Olive & Regals Button in Crushed Curry; Dotted Scallop Trim Punch; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; White Baker's Twine. ![]() Pumpkin Club December 27! I think I can also sneak in Merry Monday #137 - Feathered Friends! If I'm doing "Feathered Friends," that pretty much calls for Beauty of the Season, which I haven't used since that first Christmas card class I did - shame! I feel like I don't have the right DSP here, but I used every speck of my Trim the Tree pack, so this will have to do! Had some fun adding a bit of dimension to my cardinal, though I think it's hard to see... Beauty of the Season Stamp Set; Nordic Noel DSP; Real Red, Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Early Espresso, Real Red, Garden Green & Crushed Curry Inks; Early Espresso Baker's Twine. ![]() New Year's Wreath Class December 11 or 13!
