![]() Such a cool combo this round at In{k}spire Me #511 - I gotta get in on this! I went straight to our Circle Sayings set for this one - seemed a natural fit, lol. I decided to stamp most of my sketch elements, and used the "celebrate" circle and cupcake image for my main features. I very carefully water-painted some color onto the cupcakes, too - worked out perfectly! I added some solid dots that I punched out to round things out, and the little banner from the sketch, though my sentiment is actually in one of the circles - fun! I finished with a few tiny rhinestones just to draw in some light! Circle Sayings Stamp Set; Basic White, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve & Lemon Lolly CS; Pebbled Path, Lemon Lolly, Moody Mauve & Boho Blue Inks; Water Painter; 5/8" & 1/2" Circle Punches; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #IMC511. ![]() Snow in August 2023 Woo hoo! ![]() Oooo! The theme this round at The Sisterhood of Crafters is "tropical!" I'm on it! To get myself started, I checked my retired DSP box to see if I had anything good and tropical - and as I hoped, I still have a bit of the Tropical Oasis pack! When I spotted this Calypso Coral sheet, I knew I wanted to go all flamingo instead of palm trees and plumeria, lol. So out came Friendly Flamingo! I made this pretty guy in Calypso to go with the DSP, but I did fussy cut this gorgeous jungle leaf to add some pop! This is my favorite sentiment for this guy, too - such great advice! Friendly Flamingo Stamp Set (Retired 2021); Tropical Oasis DSP (retired); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Calypso Coral & Early Espresso Inks; Blender Pen; Flamingo Dies (retired); Calypso Coral Iridescent Gems;#TSOCTropical. ![]() Snow in August 2023 Woo hoo! I had to pull out my On The Ocean set again, so many fun shapes in this one! I started from an all-over background in the stunning-but-retired Waves of the Ocean DSP - love the look of this paper still! From there I set up a nice block to set off my lovely tall ship, and I tried my hand at fussy cutting some foamy waters for some scene setting. I added some clouds and seagulls, and finished with a few Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems - lots of blues today, lol. I'm also excited that this card can double as my team sketch challenge inspiration - woo! On The Ocean Stamp Set; Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired); Basic White & Smoky Slate CS; Smoky Slate & Lost Lagoon Inks; On The Ocean Dies; Twisted Rope EF; Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems; #C4G327. ![]() Snow in August 2023 Woo hoo! I think I pulled off both pretty OK! I started by choosing my "masculine" set - though this is such a slippery slope, lol. I know at least as many chopper-riding ladies as gents, these days - maybe an Arizona thing? ANYWAY, Legendary Ride it is! I went with Misty Moonlight for my color - I had a feeling it would blend up soft and pretty for my background, but stamp bold enough for the chopper! I think I might be getting slightly better at my blending brushes, too - I really should use them more! After my blended band, I stamped and stamped off twice for a little movement, and added my sentiment. I couldn't resist some Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems, too - shh! Legendary Ride Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Misty Moonlight Ink; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #AAA245. ![]() Now, HERE'S one to celebrate - Festive Friday #0139 is all about International Beer Day! There were some great choices to play on the inspo list for this one, and to my surprise I managed 7! So fun! I figured there might be a lot of Brewed For You cards coming out this round, so I went back a bit and used 2019's Bubble Over, with a little help from 2018's Mixed Drinks set. I layered up some Distressed Gold paper with Very Vanilla and some Early Espresso DSP, then used the same gold in my bottle labels and caps - very cool look! I found the tiny "Cheers!" sentiment in Mixed Drinks, along with some smaller bubbles - perfect! So I covered, Brown, Gold, Cheers Sentiment, Beer, Masculine, Bubbles and Bottles - whew! Bubble Over (retired 2019) & Mixed Drinks (retired 2018) Stamp Sets; Early Espresso DSP; Very Vanilla CS; Distressed Gold Specialty Paper; Early Espresso & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Bottles & Bubbles Dies (retired); Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots; #FF0139. ![]() Whew! I can finally JUST sneak in to The Sisterhood of Crafters this round, for their "in the garden" theme! Yay! I couldn't resist going back to my Dainty Delight set for this one - so many pretty stems! I spotted this sheet in the retired Tea Boutique pack - great colors in this one! Taking my cue from the paper, I did up my little blossoms in Fresh Freesia with touches of Orchid Oasis. Those pretty droplets are from the Tinsel Gems 3-pack! It all came together on rails! Dainty Delight Stamp Set; Tea Boutique DSP (retired); Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Tinsel Gems 3-Pack in Fresh Freesia; #TSOCInTheGarden. ![]() Wow, what a great quote at this round's Time Out Challenge #242 - love it! I knew right away I wanted to pull out my Magical Day set from 2018 - I even still have some of the DSP! The dragon in the challenge graphic reminds me so much of dragons from that paper, but when I looked over the set, I knew I really wanted to color the mermaid, lol. I found this bubbly and sparkly sheet in the DSP, and paired it up with Berry Burst, so I went with that for my coloring, too! She has a sweet little trio of seahorses with her, and I finished with some Opal Rounds. Such a cutie! Magical Day Stamp Set (retired 2018); Myths & Magic DSP (retired); Basic White & Berry Burst CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Berry Burst CS; Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Bubble Bath & SU900 Blends Markers; Magical Mates & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Opal Rounds; #TOC242. ![]() Good times - we have a fun tic-tac-toe challenge for you this round at Retro Rubber #211! I went straight to the center row, of course, embossing - die cut or punch - beach! Then I went straight to my all-time fave beachy set, Paradise Palms from 2022, lol. So fun! I knew already I wanted to try the deboss side of a panel done up with our old Seaside EF - thanks, Deb! - and I floated my beach scene over that! I even scrounged out some Calypso shells from the Whale of a Time Sequin pack, lol. I snuck in a punch for my sentiment, so I'm all set! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our tic tac toe - meet you at the challenge! Paradise Palms Stamp Set (retired 2023); Basic White, Pool Party & Lemon Lolly CS; Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie Pie, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Inks; Seaside EF (retired); Large Oval Punch (retired); Linen Thread; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired; #RRCB211. ![]() The AAA Birthday #51 game calls for butterflies! So fun! After a quick search, I was a little shocked to realize that I actually don't have any current butterfly-focused stamp sets, lol. I'm ok with that, though, because my Butterfly Gala bundle from 2021 is still my favorite butterfly set ever! I even still have some carefully hoarded Gingham Gala DSP to go with - including some in our now-returned Lemon Lime Twist! It's a great hoarding day, folks, lol. Anyway, I did a trio of butterflies in three other colors from this DSP, and borrowed the birthday sentiment from Pansy Patch - I think this font is perfect for all these wings! I did resist the urge to pile on even more butterflies with our Brass Butterflies embellishments, and went with these Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots instead. So happy with this cheery card! Butterfly Gala (retired 2021) & Pansy Patch Stamp Sets; Gingham Gala DSP (retired); Basic White, Basic Black & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue & Highland Heather Inks; Butterfly Duet & Large Oval Punches (both retired); Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #AAAB51. ![]() Critters Class 2023 We just can't let any of our cute critters get away! Time for a critter round-up! We'll be making 6 cards with envelopes, and NO fur, lol. Class includes all supplies (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!) snacks, drinks and a special gift from me all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, July 15, at 2 pm! RSVP now to save your spot! ![]() Ahh, a new feature title from The Library Challenge #82 - The Girl in the Polka Dot Dress! Looks like a good one, but I haven't read it, so maybe I'll treat it like a sketch! So, that's kinda what I ended up doing, lol. In the end, I spotted my beloved Beautiful You set on the shelves of retirement, and that was it! I just really wanted to do the glamour gal, but I couldn't figure out how to set her in a landscape without legs! It just wasn't looking right, so I finally just said yes to the dress, and the hat, too, lol. I did feature Night of Navy with my paper piecing to go with the book cover, at least! Beautiful You Stamp Set (retired 2020); Night of Navy DSP (retired); Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Night of Navy Inks; SU700 & Night of Navy Blends Markers; Enamel Dot Essentials; #TLC82. |
