Love the layers in this week's Paper Craft Crew #270! I'll be trying it in these fun colors from TGIF #136, too! So, I ended up cheating just a tiny little bit - I used Champagne instead of Gold, which I think is perfectly OK, right? If one had to choose, who wouldn't take champagne anyway? Am I right?? Lol, I think it would also be cruel to make someone choose! Anyway, I had zipped merrily along before I realized, but I do LOVE it against the Cherry Cobbler! I even had some champagne sequins left over from my old Fancy Frost sequins mix! Snowflake Sentiments & Christmas Pines Stamp Sets; Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler & Champagne Foil CS; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits; Fancy Frost Sequins (retired); #PCC270; #TGIF136.

A pretty sketch in ovals this week from Freshly Made Sketch #315! I think it will be gorgeous in these sophisticated colors from Color Throwdown #471! Another set that hasn't gotten much ink time from me this season is the gorgeous Star of Light. I love the thinlits for this set so much! You can make everything shiny and glittery, or, as I decided to do today, you can keep it a little subdued but super classy. The sentiments especially are wonderful, as well. I tried to keep this one a little less shiny - and I love it! Star of Light Stamp Set; Year of Cheer DSP; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Smoky Slate Inks; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Starlight Thinlits; Gold Sequins; #FMS315; #CTD471. Loving these cool arrangements of shapes lately from Match the Sketch #205! I'm adding in Just Add Ink #388's "add glitter" challenge, too! I really have Christmas cards on the brain right now - usually by now I'm a bit burnt out, but I keep getting the sensation that I haven't inked everyone up enough, lol. Case in point (God, I crack myself up) this sweet snuggly reindeer in a sweater. At least, that's how I think of this reindeer! This set was a total fluke for me - I didn't expect to earn it in time to use in a class, so I didn't promote it very much. I did end up using it for a note set in my annual packaging class, but it hasn't hit the blog as much as I'd like. So he had to get all dolled up for today! Snuggles!! Merry Patterns & Hug in a Mug Stamp Sets; Red Glimmer, Whisper White & Old Olive CS; Early Espresso, Old Olive & Real Red Inks; Cable Knit DEF; Layering Circles Framelits; Red Sequins; #MTS205; #JAI388. We can't go wrong with Global Design Project #115's "Christmas Joy" theme! I'm giving it a go in Merry Monday #267's funky colors, too! The first thing I did was look in my CURRENT sets (I've been hitting the retired shelves a lot lately, lol) for anything that actually had the word "joy" in it. Hearts Come Home of course immediately jumped out, and I decided to do a "mini" version of the landscapes offered. I love it in these colors! The silver emboss shows up MUCH better in person, sigh, but these colors really do have a bright harmony together. Score another hit for Lemon Lime Twist! Hearts Come Home Stamp Set; Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist & Tempting Turquoise CS; Versamark and Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Silver EP; Hometown Greetings Edgelits; #GDP115; #MM267. Fusion Card Challenge has a lovely challenge for us this week - "red Christmas" along with a super cute sketch! The one stamp I haven't used much this year is the lovely background stamp Merry Medley, so I hit on floating some pretty ornaments over it for the sketch elements. I also decided to pull out a few "reds" and see what happened. I love it! I had to matte my little ornaments, but everyone got a different color combo - sa-WEET! Fusion accomplished! Merry Medley & Ornament Keepsakes (retired) Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Bravo Burgundy (retired) CS; Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Bravo Burgundy (retired) Inks; Layering Ovals, Layering Circles, Holiday Ornaments (retired) & Wonderful Wreath (retired) Framelits; Real Red, Silver & Metallic Red Baker's Twines; #FusionRedChristmas. We have a beautiful sketch from Paper Players #372 today! I think I'll work in What Will You Stamp #144's Santa's Suit challenge, too! One of the MANY things I love about this stamp set is how much it reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas ornaments - a surfing Santa we brought back one year from Hawaii! NOW I know what happened to his suit while he was carving it up!! Lol... I still just have a blast stamping, cutting and arranging all my Santa pieces - like a Santa paper doll! Enjoy! Santa's Suit Stamp Set; Quilted Christmas DSP; Whisper White & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red & Crumb Cake Inks; Layering Ovals, Layering Circles & Santa Builder Framelits; Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon; Red Sequins; #PP372; #WWYS144. Hooray! This week's SU Only #188's theme is Winter Holidays - time to celebrate the most wonderful time of year! I think I'll combine with this lovely sketch from Match the Sketch #204! I have to say, it's such a curious thing to have my retired sets on hand in the stampin' studio! I try not to go to those shelves too much, but when I was browsing for yesterday's card, I couldn't help but pull a couple likely sets that were still sitting on my desk today, ahem. Who can resist our 'stache-y" Santa, especially now we have Stampin' Blends back in our rep?? Not me!! So fresh and fun over this quilt pattern, this card definitely brings a smile to my face! Santa 'Stache Stamp Set (2014-retired); Quilted Christmas DSP; Whisper White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Cherry Cobbler, Ivory & Smoky Slate Blends; Silver Foil Snowflake; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #SUO188; #MTS204. Now, I don't usually do "anything goes" challenges - guess I like some direction, lol. But I have so much fun with this challenge, I decided to give Retro Rubber #76 a go this week! Time to dig deep! I'll use Freshly Made Sketch #314 to help me along! Now that we're through Thanksgiving, I can't help but have Christmas on the mind! As I went digging, I came across this little "Beauty of the Season," that reminds me of winters back in Virginia - there's nothing like a bold cardinal boy against the snow! I pulled in one of my fave sentiments from Tin of Tags to go with - let's all dream, friends, of walkin' in a winter wonderland! Beauty of the Season (2014) & Tin of Tags (2016) Stamp Sets (both retired); Quilted Christmas DSP; Whisper White, Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler; Champagne Glimmer Paper; Memento Tuxedo Black & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight Blends; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Woodland EF; Gold Sequins; #RR76; #FMS314. Today's awesome sketch is from Sunday Stamps #166! I'm excited to add in Merry Monday #266's Santa Claus challenge, too! You know what, I could get used to seeing Santa "en deshabille" this way, lol, and I'm reminded that I have a Union Suit just like this one!! I think I need to break that baby out! Can you just see him running around because he forgot it was laundry day?? I totally can! Santa's Suit & Labeler Alphabet Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red & Daffodil Delight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Ink; Ivory Blends Marker; Stitched Shapes Framelits; Petals-A-Plenty EF (retired); Black Sequins; #SSC166; #MM266. I totally think I can make something yummy using these festive colors from In{k}spire Me #326, too! I have an idea for using Paper Players #371's "warm and cozy" theme, too! OK, it's true - I just love making up mitten sets with Smitten Mittens this year! They're just so perfect, and the framelit set that goes with is pretty much everything I could have asked for, lol. I strayed out the sketch lines, but I so wanted to use these big mittens! Bring on the hot chocolate! Smitten Mittens Stamp Set; Whisper White, Real Red, Smoky Slate & Silver Foil CS; Real Red Ink; Cable Knit DEF; Many Mittens Framelits; #CTS248; #IM326; #PP371. Pumpkin Club November 25!
