![]() I found this week's Retro Sketch #71 to be a bit of a challenge - and when I feel that, out come the chickens! There's no sketch that can't stand a little cluck, and best of all, it means I get to color! (I LOVE my markers!) I think I get called back to this retired set a little more than usual because our new hexagon embossing folder seems just MADE for it, lol. Plus, there can never be too much cluck. Best of Cluck & Chicken Wire stamp sets (both retired); Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler & Crushes Curry CS; Basic Black, Real Red, Crushed Curry & Gumball Green inks; White Gel Pen; Natural Trim Ribbon; Linen Thread; Designer Naturals buttons; Hexagon embossing folder; Finishing Touches edgelits.

![]() As soon as I saw the sketch for Fab Friday #17, I thought of our latest Paper Pumpkin kit - "Seriously." Here's where I point out that I did NOT name this post "Fabulous Booty" when I could have! Heee... I know the tag shape was just a suggestion, but, well, the kit actually HAS tags in it - how could I resist? Buttons, too, it's like they made this sketch with the kit in mind, IMHO! Now if only I could bring myself to use the other sentiment from the kit. It's a bit too weird even for me! ("Love your guts"?? Who talks like that?) April 2013 Paper Pumpkin-Seriously; More Mustard CS; Not Quite Navy ink. Envelope: Designer Typeset stamp set; Not Quite Navy, More Mustard & Old Olive inks. ![]() For this week's Clean & Simple #238, I knew I wanted to use some more paper from the This and That Epic Day set I got recently - especially the honeycomb-map! Too cool! What better to go with a map than a compass? It turned into a quick little note of encouragement, and not too blingy - sometimes I guess Less IS more... The Open Sea & Wishes Your Way stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; This and That Epic Day DSP; Basic Black, Gumball Green, Pool Party & Calypso Coral inks; self-adhesive Rhinestones. ![]() OK, I SERIOUSLY considered calling this post "Clean Booty," giggle... I created this week's Clean & Simple #237 card from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit - Seriously! I do think the sentiments from this kit are pretty cute, so I had to doctor it up a bit to take a stab at a sketch card with it. I think I might give this to Bug in celebration of getting through another year of AIMS testing! Seriously Paper Pumpkin kit, plus Button, Button stamp set; Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive CS; Print Poetry DSP; Bitty Punch Pack. ![]() I am completely in love with this week's Retro Sketch #57! I love the arrangement of the different shapes and sizes - it was hard to resist doing a chicken version of this card, and I might still need to go back and do that! Instead I pulled out another stamp set that I just didn't use enough, and I used some colors that I'm trying to let go of{sob.} I swear I don't know what I'll do without Lucky Limeade - maybe they'll do a little color renovation this year, and we'll get to keep it! PLEASE! (Alas, the color gods were deaf this time - see below!) Reason to Smile & Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets; Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Large Dots texture plate (retired); Bitty Banners framelits; Calypso Coral & Lucky Limeade inks; Calypso Coral Baker's Twine. 2013 Color Refresh & Free Shipping! ![]() Look how much SU! loves us - they're giving us a head's up on the Color Refresh coming in this year's new catalog - yay! I'm not sure we've ever had this much notice before... You can click on the flyer to the right to get the low-down on the changes - lots of returning In Colors, and we get to keep THREE of this year's outgoing In Colors - awesome! Just not Lucky Limeade {SOB}. There's only one brand spankin' new color - in the neutrals collection - Smoky Slate - it'll be good to have an array of grays back! SU! will again be offering refresh kits for sale to customers starting May 31 - a collection of all 10 pads and a card stock sampler pack, 2 sheets of each new color. There will also be a set of the Refresh markers available separately, as some of the returning In Colors pre-date SU!'s introduction of markers. So what color am I most excited about? I think it has to be Soft Sky - I have horded that color for three years now! Psychic me! The one I'll miss most? I think it's a toss up between Baja Breeze and More Mustard. I definitely use Baja Breeze the most, though, I think that one is the biggest shocker... So, be sure to get stocked up on any of the retiring colors that you can't live without! As of now, all retiring colors are while supplies last. Don't forget to consider your stash of retired and retiring DSP while you think it over - you want to make sure you have enough coordinating card stock to go with! I usually forget to do that, sigh... To go with this exciting news, Stampin' Up! is offering free shipping on EVERYTHING this weekend, April 6-8, three days only! No matter what you spend - what a great chance to get that little item that you keep forgetting to add to your order! Or to save big on a big order! I might have to place a little one myself this weekend! ![]() So, I've had the new photopolymer stamps for a week or two now, and still haven't had a chance to use them. The possibilities seem pretty endless - you can BEND the stamps, mount multiples - it's crazy! I decided Clean & Simple #233 was my chance - and what I really wanted to do was play with the alphabet. So, that's how this card was born! The stamps are VERY easy to use, and stick to the blocks perfectly - even better than the clear-mount stamps. I definitely see this set in one of our future classes! Designer Typeset & Pennant Parade stamp sets; Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Island Indigo CS; Chevron & Square Lattice embossing folders; Round Tab (retired) punch; Sycamore Street ribbon & button; Jumbo self-adhesive Rhinestone. ![]() This was another interesting sketch - Clean & Simple #209. All that "white" space was a bit intimidating to me, I really wanted to add some items in there! I resisted, though, and I must say I'm pretty happy with the results! This sketch was a great chance to use up some scraps, because I have a teeny little problem letting go of any bit of paper I could punch any little piece out of, LOL! I even got to boost my use by decorating the envelope flap to match as well - we did that in a class once before, remember? Border Banter stamp set; Very Vanilla & Pool Party CS; Everyday Enchantment DSP (retired); Taffeta ribbon in Soft Suede; Designer Round Ribbon Slide; Early Espresso ink; Corner Rounder punch; Paper Piercing pack. |
