![]() We have a fun theme at this week's The Sisterhood of Crafters - "sentiment only!" Love this! So, I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I only just recently realized that our Amazing Silhouettes set is bundled with these fabulous Amazing Thanks dies! I know it's crazy, but I actually won the stamp set by itself during our online catalog preview event for demos, so I never really looked at that page of the catalog, lol. Doh! These dies are beautiful! Love the shadow layering we can do, too, and they are the perfect accompaniment to go with the set! Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Soft Sea Foam & Old Olive Inks; Amazing Thanks Dies; Brushed Brass Butterflies; #TSOCSentimentOnly.

![]() Goodness, we have some juicy colors for you this week at Sunday Stamps#279! I've actually had the idea for multicolored ladybugs brewing around in my head for a bit now, and our colors today were JUST what I needed to finally try it out! I punched a few ladybug bodies, then chose some current colors to go with - I really buckled down and stayed away from some retired ones that would be PERFECT, lol... Anyway, I couldn't resist adding a little bug feet track with our Stitched With Whimsy dies, and finished off with some tiny Rhinestones. So fun! I hope you have a chance to come play with us this week - see you at the challenge! Hello Ladybug Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Polished Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Polished Pink (envelope) Inks; Stitched With Whimsy Dies; Ladybug Builder Punch; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #SSC279. ![]() Pumpkin Club March 26! I knew right away I wanted to use my In Bloom bundle for this one! I can't get over the Pierced Blooms dies still, and how perfect are they for a fresh array of little flowers cut from DSP scraps? I settled on my retired pack of Ice Cream Corner DSP - so many yummy colors in these pretty color washes, just right for this Spring-y spray! I finished with a few Brushed Brass Butterflies, I've been really surprised how much I love them, lol. I think THEY are why I'm suddenly all over flower cards again! Now I love me some old stamps, for sure, but I don't know about the rejected part, lol. This might take some digging! So, it turns out, on the back of a bottom shelf, I have a little bin stash of non-SU stamp sets. That I totally forgot was there, and never dig through, so I think that qualifies as old and rejected, right?? I found 3 little sachets of stamp sets (bizarro!) and one of them was Cocktail Party from Unity Stamps. A quick search on Splitcoast shows cards as far back as 2009 using this set - wow! I have no idea how this came to me, I think someone must have given these to me, and since I'm a diehard SU! fan and demo, I don't think I ever gave them a thought, lol. But this cocktail dress is a cutie, so I matched it up with the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP still out on my desk from yesterday. I like it! No one report me to the SU police, please, lol. Cocktail Party Stamp Set (Unity, 2009?); Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Artisan Pearls (retired); #TSOCOldRejected. ![]() Pumpkin Club March 26! Time for another one-layer challenge from Less is More #459 - with the addition that we can only feature one WORD, too! Argh! OK, somehow I quickly became obsessed with finally STAMPING a rainbow with our new Rainbow of Happiness set - I have been pretty enamored with the dies so far, lol. Could I find a word I could line up underneath? Why, yes! Turns out that the "hello" in Friendly Hello is just the right size to line up under a stack of three of the rainbow bands - woot! I masked off the rest of the sentiment, stamped that first in black, and then built the bands over the top. Then I couldn't resist stamping and stamping off a few of the tiny hearts that come in the rainbow set, too, shhh! Rainbow of Happiness & Friendly Hello Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Inks; #LIM459. ![]() Thank You Cards March 12! And you know what springs to mind for this one?? A Hedgehog shape, of course! Lol, these cuties have been on my desk for a couple weeks now, just waiting for their chance at some ink. The larger hedgehog even works with the builder punch, but I went ahead and fussy cut everything since I was doing so much of it already, lol. A very relaxing job it was, too! I can't wait to see YOUR creations for our fun sketch - meet you there! Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set; Sunshine & Rainbows DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, So Saffron, Petal Pink & SU300 Blends Markers; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Iridescent Sequins; #SSC278. ![]() Thank You Cards March 12! Well, I think it's safe to say, we're big dog lovers here, lol. I could spend days at a time story-telling about their antics, scrapes and snores. So much of our lives revolves around them! That said, I couldn't settle on just one card, so I grabbed my Happy Tails bundle and made a little color block trio to celebrate them. I kept the cards pretty simple, except for the color blocks, and finished with a few Elegant Faceted Gems on each. Sophie, Bella and Harley, this trio's for you! Happy Tails Stamp Set (retire 2020_; Basic White, Early Espresso, Merry Merlot & Blushing Bride CS; Early Espresso Ink; Dog Builder Punch (retired); Elegant Faceted Gems; #TSOCFavePet. ![]() Thank You Cards March 12! I feel pretty done with Valentine's cards for the year, so I went hunting for something that had hearts but wasn't necessarily "romantic," if you know what I mean, lol. I found this sweet row of birds in 2009's The More the Merrier set - so cute! Instead of three hearts, I have five! I kept it pretty simple, but had some fun coloring everything in with my Blends, and at the last second, I realized I had a few Coastal Cabana glitter dots to finish with, too! Woo hoo! The More the Merrier Stamp Set (retired 2009); Basic White & Bermuda Bay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party & Mango Melody Blends Markers; Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots; #MMM168. ![]() Hope you're ready to get cookin' - we have a yummy new "recipe" for you this week at As You See It #269! I love working from our ingredient lists - such a fun way to play! I started with the question dies or punches, picked dies, and quickly moved on to searching for die-cut images that I could color in pastels. Simply Succulents was perfect, AND I haven't had it out in a while - perfect! I originally used the "you've been on my mind" sentiment that comes with this set, but decided to be a stickler, and moved onto this one found in the Art Gallery set. And how about that, I get to pull in additional dies that way, lol. Some embossing, some twine, and I am done! No take out for me today! What will YOU do with our recipe this week? Come show us! Simply Succulents & Art Gallery Stamp Sets; Basic White, So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam, Purple Posy (retired) & So Saffron Blends Markers; Potted Succulents & Floral Gallery Dies; Coastal Weave EF; Linen Thread; Iridescent Sequins; #AYSI269. ![]() Ahhh, I love our soothing colors this week at Sunday Stamps #277! So, after some study, I decided that the bottom colors read more as blue than green to me, even with the inspiration pic, lol. Not only that, they read as RETIRED blues, lol, so I went with my Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock pads, which I still love! The pic made me think of succulents, which took me straight to our awesome new Cactus Cuties set! Instead of using the amazing punch, I built this whole cactus and fussy cut it - so fun! I can't wait to see YOUR ideas for these lovely colors - meet you at the challenge! Cactus Cuties Stamp Set; Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Pretty Peacock & Seaside Spray (both retired) Inks; Coastal Weave EF; Iridescent Pearls; #SSC277. |
