Nice - AAA Cards #258 has a sweet sketch for us this round - and we gotta keep it CAS! To get my little side element going, I decided to use Vertical Blooms - my only vertical set ever, lol. I still wanted bright fresh colors, but not too much, so I stamped off all my images, both the Granny Apple Green and the Berry Burst. I like the softer look! I stamped my "hello" full strength, from our Sale-a-Bration set, Heartfelt Hellos. As usual, I couldn't resist a little trio of Berry Burst Tinsel Gems to finish things off, lol. Hopefully, I'm still CAS enough! Heartfelt Hellos & Vertical Blooms Stamp Sets; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Granny Apple Green & Berry Burst Inks; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #AAA258.

Now this is a good one to celebrate - Festive Friday #152 has a great inspo list for us for Family Day! I found a few things I could work with on the list to get going, and picked my stamp set - the still-awesome Coffee With Friends! I don't have too many sets that feature actual people (friends know I'm a total critter addict, lol) but this this one is just brilliant! And has coffee! Lol. Anyway, these two friends raising a cuppa together on a park bench is my favorite image, and along with my favorite sentiment, makes for a sweet scene! So I think I got in bright colors, twine, people, maybe hands because we can see their hands, lol, and outdoors. And I got to color away, which I love to do! Definitely a fun one, and great for a friend! Coffee With Friends Stamp Set; Les Shoppes DSP; Basic White & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; SU200, SU500, SU600, SU900, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, Smoky Slate & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Crushed Curry Baker's Twine; Bumblebee Matte Decorative Dots (retired); #FF0152. Now this is an awesome theme - Farm Quest Challenge Blog #45 is all about porch or deck furniture! Awesome! I think I finally came up with something that will work - not sure I have anything that shows an actual PORCH, lol. However, I spotted this monochrome storefront sheet in my Les Shoppes DSP pack - with no goodies in the windows, it really does look kinda like a pretty housefront! Then I pulled in this awesome old porch rocker from 2005's Please Be Seated - one of my oldest stamp sets! I paired it with this most country of sentiments from Coffee With Friends, and it brings to mind so many summer evenings spent on the front porch as a kid, watching the world go by. Good times indeed! Please Be Seated (retired 2005) & Coffee With Friends Stamp Sets; Les Shoppes DSP; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake & Balmy Blue Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Linen Thread; Pacific Point Fine Sparkle Gems (retired); #FQCB45. Sympathy Cards Class February 10 This is our chance to make those cards we are always sorry to need, but that bring such comfort to the receivers. Class will feature 6 cards with envelopes, snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25. Bring your own favorite snips and adhesive! This class can also be free with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for February 10 at 2 pm - RSVP now to save your spot! What a super cute sketch at this round's Inspire Create Challenge #160! Such fun layers! I've been itching to build a landscape with our gorgeous new Hills of Tuscany set - love this style! I figured I had just enough room to do a snapshot scene on our largest Stylish Circle. I chose some of the brushed solids from our Fresh As a Daisy DSP pack - it all looks much darker than I had been going for, but still works, I think! I did try to add a couple brighter points of light with a few Champagne Rhinestones, though. It was fun to work through all these layers! Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set; Fresh As a Daisy DSP; Basic White, Wild Wheat & Pretty Peacock CS; Pretty Peacock, Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Wild Wheat & Garden Green Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #ICC160. I couldn't resist FINALLY inking up our cute new Sale-a-Bration set Watercolor Melon for this one! I normally wouldn't go for a set that doesn't have sentiments with the images, but it was FREE, right? Also, it goes with my new Modern Oval punch (yay!), AND, we have the mysterious new Thoughtful Moments hybrid embossing set chock-full of sentiments! I quickly set up my melon pieces and then tackled the new hybrid - I was VERY skeptical, lol. I did a trial run over the weekend in plain white (in front of my class, too, I was sweating, lol) but today I sponge-daubed some ink on my chosen sentiment, and ran it through for just the one - worked like a charm! Having the die go INSIDE the folder really takes out the smearing of inking the folder directly, because the die is between the folder and the paper - no smudging and I love the dimension! Can't wait to do more of these! I also can't wait to see YOUR layered projects for us this round - meet you at the challenge! Watercolor Melon Stamp Set; Melon Mambo DSP (retired); Basic White & Garden Green CS; Garden Green, Melon Mambo & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Modern Oval Punch; Matte Black Dots; #SSC328. Whew - I'm really getting hit with the color challenges this week, lol. I mulled this one over for a bit til I remembered my gorgeous Masterfully Made DSP, part of the Gorgeously Made suite! Just the thing! I floated a lovely torn edge panel of Pretty Peacock over a Night of Navy base, then added some detail sin Berry Burst and White. It was fun to play with some of the edge dies in this one - I got both the spiral bound edge AND the deckled curve on my piece of Berry Burst DSP. I lightened things up by cutting my stem in White, but I couldn't resist heat-embossing my sentiment in White onto Berry as well. A few Berry Burst Tinsel Gems finish things off! I can't wait to see YOUR projects in our bright candy colors - meet you at the challenge! Gorgeously Made Stamp Set; Masterfully Made DSP; Basic White, Night of Navy & Berry Burst CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Gorgeously Made Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #HSS430. Another cute combo at this round's In{k}spire Me #525 - check out those colors! This card ended up being quite the challenge for me, lol. Including the Copper Clay in that color line-up - yikes! It was a struggle, I admit, lol. AND, those colors plus that swoosh spelled floral to me - not my best medium, either! I finally settled on our SAB set, Softly Sophisticated. I was able to snag this one during a pre-order window in which I had a LIMITED selection of items to choose from - and this was one! I've actually used the embossing folder that comes with it a few times now, but not today. I built my floral sprays, and finished with my sentiment in the dreaded Copper Clay - whew! And I know JUST who I'm going to send this to! Softly Sophisticated Stamp Set; Highland Heather DSP (retired); Basic White & Melon Mambo CS; Mossy Meadow, Melon Mambo, Highland Heather & Copper Clay Inks; Melon Mambo Solid Faceted Gems; #IMC525. Excellent - Cupcake Inspirations #585 has a color challenge for us this round, and it's a good one! As soon as I saw the gray and yellow, I knew this was my chance to ink up our new Bright Skies bundle - so cute! I love all the cloud die elements in this one, and the happy sentiments in the stamps! We could all use a little more sunshine peeking through, right? I did a little stamped scene with these smaller clouds, and some bright tulips growing below - just cheerful and quick! We're all just stamps, ink and paper today, though I did finish with a few Glossy Dots for more bright spots of color! Bright Skies Stamp Set; Basic White & Crushed Curry CS; Smoky Slate & Crushed Curry Inks; Bright Skies Dies; Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #CIC585. Oh yum - If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #188 has a SERIOUSLY cute cookie coffee cup pic for our inspiration this month - the best kind of "winter wishes!" You KNOW I had to pull out my Merry Cafe set for this one! And these colors are so close to our newest In Colors - it seems like cookie fate to me, lol! I ended up layering two cups so I could get some different combos on there, and I did borrow a snowflake from the Chic Dies, as well. So fun! Kinda craving Starbuck's now, lol. So excited to see such pretty cookies at the challenge! Merry Cafe (retired 2017) Stamp Set; Crumb Cake DSP (retired; Basic White, Boho Blue, Crumb Cake & Moody Mauve CS; Early Espresso & Moody Mauve Inks; Coffee Cup (retired) & Chic Dies; Linen Thread; Moody Mauve Glossy Dots; #Cookie188. Such a super cute sketch at this round's AAA Cards #256 - and so many possibilities! For this one, I pulled out my Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, to try my hand at that layered plaid. I think I had maybe mixed results, lol, but I do like the subtle pattern! I did a combo of Pool Party & Lost Lagoon, and then stamped my "hello" from the new Sale-A-Bration Heartfelt Hellos set. I couldn't resist adding a few Pool Party Faceted Gems, lol, but I think I'm still pretty CAS! Heartfelt Hellos Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Pool Party & Lost Lagoon Inks; Artistic Mix Decorative Masks; Pool Party Faceted Gems; #AAA256. |
