My take on this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch #90 is all about the photopolymer! So many fun little elements to play with! I love this little US map in the Map It Out set, and I think that some of the tags from Show & Tell are perfect accessories! What a way to catalog my travels - it'd be fun to colorize the little map, too - have to try that next... Hope you can join us on the Crew this week - can't wait to see what you have for us! Hey, hey, hey, check out the fun layers at Fab Friday #39! I know I might have gone another way, but really, the chickens have just been incensed lately that they haven't been out much. And with a chance at a blog-post title like that, the clamor was actually deafening! I was able to piece this one together with lots of scraps I found in the folders, and add texture with some of the coordinating stamps - SO much to love in this set! Thanks for indulging my chicken fetish one more time, lol... Who wouldn't want this little green-and-black-speckled guy running around? Best of Cluck (retired) Stamp Set; Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive CS; Real Red DSP scrap (from the retired stack); Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate & Old Olive Inks; Stampin' Chalk Marker; Ovals Collection Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template. Wow, there are some SERIOUSLY cute samples over at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #129! This sketch is bringing out everyone's best for sure! So of course I immediately started hunting for my "any" shape - and had a hard time deciding, lol... So I went with NO shape, from my newest photopolymer set! This came together quickly and simply, with a nice gentle color scheme. I'm SO into the pretty stripes in the Watercolor Wonder DSP! Love it! Show & Tell 1 and 2 Stamp Sets; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Whisper WHite, Smoky Slate & Crushed Curry CS; Snoky Slate, Crushed Curry & Basic Black Inks; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. You know, sometimes timing is everything! It sure worked out that way this week, for the happy marriage of Retro Sketches #107 and Nacho Average Challenge #82! This week's inspiration totally started with the arrival of a new order from Stampin' Up! As I gleefully sorted through my new loot, I came across a tiny little stamped square, "Just For You," of a butterfly in what looks to me like Rose Red, lol, and a cute little rhinestone, and a hand-written note on the back: "Just a little something special for a very special someone. - Julia" That's right folks, SU's employees also actually STAMP, and they spread our stampin' love - this little love note came from my warehouse picker! I am so thrilled! In honor of this sweet reminder, I combined my two challenges to make my own little set of 3" x 3" love notes, a packaged set of four ready to go! Feel the love? Secret Garden & Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Sets; Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red, Blushing Bride & Whisper White CS & Inks; Secret Garden & Bitty Banner Framelits; Mini Square Envelopes; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. So much FUN in thie week's Paper Craft Crew #86! Banner flags AND word bubbles? Be still my heart! I knew right away that I wanted this one to be bright and colorful, which totally meant my brightest DSP, and my cheery little feathered friends in For The Birds... So fun to color in these images, and I decided to stray to a bright green little wagon, to celebrate our completed garden plan (seeds on order, too - woo hoo!) For The Birds & Just Sayin' Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Gumball Green CS; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Gumball Green & Island Indigo Inks; Black Staz-On; Word Bubble Framelits; Banner Punch; Regals Candy Dots. I don't know what got into me for my Pumpkin Card this week, but when I started thinking about our My Pumpkin Challenge #0314 - Circles & Bags, I just got totally fixated on wanting to do an easel card, lol... THEN, I couldn't decide what color to do! But of course, when you're making a Paper Pumpkin project, and stuck for color, of COURSE you go for Pumpkin Pie, right?? So, this ended up being a fairly simple card, with a fairly plain inside, so I can leave room for a note to my dear friend Laura. Hopefully this will brighten her day! Tip: To achieve a closer circle match, I traced around the same framelit I used to cut the center in pencil. I used the distressing tool to cover up snip lines after I hand-cut! Card fits perfectly in our 5 1/2" Square Envelopes... Paper Pumpkin - Hey There & In The Bag Stamp Sets; Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, So Saffron & Whisper White CS; Pumpkin Pie, Versamark & Early Espresso Inks; Circles Collection Framelits; Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder; 7/8" Scallop Circle, & Itty Bitty Punches; Brights & Neutrals Candy Dots in Pumpkin Pie & Early Espresso. This week's Clean & Simple #282 has some AWESOME samples submitted! Have you seen? I decided to go sunny and happy today - phooey on cloudy weather! And there's nothing cloudy about the awesome big dahlia in this image - love it! Had fun riffling through my DSP stash looking for cherry yellow scraps to use, too, more than enough to chase the blues away! This is Clean & Simple at its most elegant! Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set; This & That Epic Day, Quatrefancy Specialty & Eastern Elegance DSP; So Saffron & Crushed Curry Inks; Corner Rounder Punch; Regal Candy Dots in Crushed Curry. I kinda feel like I pulled out my whole bag of tricks for this week's Paper Craft Crew #82! Whew - I treated each little section like its own little canvas, lol... Time for a nap! (A happy one!) I have a very low-tech way that I do these rayed layouts, too - pick your center point, then just lay down triangles radiating from that point till all the space is filled. All I have left is to trim off the overage when I'm done - looks more like an octopus before I do that, lol... So for some reason, I was all about the sunny landscape here today - I think it's because I get to plan out my garden box layouts this week, and I'm having fun digging through my seed catalogs - going for the potato towers this year! Woo! So, are you on Crew this week? Let's have a look! See Ya Later stamp set; Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight & Pistachio Pudding CS & Inks; Sweet Sorbet, Quatrefancy Specialty & Eastern Elegance DSP; Adorning Accents Edgelits' 1/4" Grosgrain in Daffodil Delight; Key Tag (retired), Decorative Label & 3/4" Oval Punches; Cloudy Day Embossing Folder. RSVP NOW to let me know you are coming, so I can make sure to have your kit waiting! And of course, let me know if you prefer a daytime class, and we will set it up! OK, I admit it - I'm not entirely sure I can really attribute today's card to this week's Clean & Simple #280, which really is the sketch I started from! It's just that when I saw the sketch, I thought - hm, looks like I could make that into teeth from a monster mouth, but... Hey, wait! I could make it an alligator because I have that one stamp set! And this is where I ended up, sigh. At least it's kinda funny, lol... Totally inspired by Cindy Majors! See Ya Later stamp set; Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Real Red, Whisper White & Gumball Green CS; Gumball Green & Real Red inks; Decorative Dots Embossing Folder; Bigz XL Tasteful Trim Die; Apothecary Accents Framelits. Hm, what a nifty layout over at Fab Friday #35 this week! I confess, I had to browse for a while to come up with elements I wanted to run with! Now, I DO finally have some of the pretty doilies, they came in my Love Notes Paper Pumpkin, but you know me - I had to update that element in my own way, lol... That was when I realized that my poor Sunflower hadn't been out for a while - it seems pretty perfect for how the weather's been here in AZ - even the pool is actually warming up earlier! Makes me a bit nervous for summer - it really isn't usually 90 here in February, yikees...
