![]() Mmm, lovely snuggly colors we have this round at As You See It #309! I hope they make this sympathy card feel like a warm hug - I kept the design simple and sincere. The stamp and punch is from our new pre-release, called Heartfelt Hexagon. We get to take a sneak peek for tomorrow's World Card Making Day! I wanted to play with the set a tiny bit ahead of time, and this is where I landed. This gorgeous Copper Clay sheet is from the O Holy Night pack - I love the pattern sides almost as much as the scenery sides! I added some simple Misty Moonlight cotton ribbon, and a few first run Misty dots - I couldn't believe my eyes when I found these in a drawer, lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for these toasty colors! Meet you at the challenge! Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White & Copper Clay CS; Copper Clay, Misty Moonlight & Crumb Cake Inks; Heartfelt Hexagon Punch; Misty Moonlight Cotton Ribbon; Misty Moonlight Enamel Dots; #AYSI309. ![]() Christmas Cards Part 2, Oct 14 at 2pm! ![]() Such a super challenge this round and The Sisterhood of Crafters - "shapes!" Love it! For this one, I retrieved my Textures & Frames from the "for sale" box, lol - it seemed just right for creating a shape-filled background! I spent some time stamping and stamping off, and I think I did pretty well at keeping it balanced! For the sentiment, I turned to Something Fancy, and popped up my chosen saying over some Calypso Coral ribbon. I finished with some Iridescent Pastel Gems! Not my usual color scheme, but pretty cute, I think! Something Fancy & Textures & Frames (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly & Balmy Blue Inks; Calypso Coral Ribbon; Calypso Coral Iridescent Gems; #TSOCShapes. ![]() I'm so excited about Shopping Our Stash #506's challenge this round - it's called "color me beautiful," and they want us to use our favorite coloring technique! Yes! I decided today would be another good day to pull out a set from my new "vintage" stash, lol - today I have 2001's Holiday Hedgehogs! These are a dream to color, and so I got to show off my favorite - Blends Markers! I used to be super into water-painting, and I still like that, too, but I turn almost exclusively to the Blends these days - I just love them! I did this simple layout with my old Plaid Tidings DSP, all in Rectangle Stitched layers, and went to town, lol. I couldn't resist dressing the finished card up with my newly arrived Loose Holly Gems & Sequins, too - just a little shine! Holiday Hedgehogs (retired 2001); Plaid Tidings (retired); Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Shaded Spruce, Real Red & Petal Pink Blends Markers; Loose Holly Gems & Sequins; #SOS506. ![]() I'm loving our fresh colors this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments 424! It took me FOREVER to decide what to play with for them, though, lol. I finally settled on our super cute Year To Celebrate - I love these noise-makes! My thought was I could pair up the colors to make some fun party favors! I toned things down just a bit by stamping off in key places, and I really love how it all came out! Topsy-turvy seemed appropriate for this party card, too, lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for these colors - meet you at the challenge! Year To Celebrate Stamp Set; Calypso Coral DSP; Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Pebbled Path & Versamark Inks; White EP; Deckled Rectangle Dies; Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon; Calypso Coral Sequins; #HSS424. ![]() Excellent - The Library Challenge #85 has another new-to-me title for us - October, October! Beautiful cover - off to check this out! Well, drat, I think this title is too new to have made it to the library yet, and I don't see a kindle edition yet either, lol. I'll have to figure something out! In the meantime, my Winter Owls bundle arrived JUST in time to make an appearance for this card! I chose a dramatic background from the O Holy Night DSP, and pieced together the extra wingspan on this beautiful owl for the corner - love it! I went with this sentiment from the stamp set, and did everything in Copper Clay to go with the paper and mimic the coloring of the lettering on the cover. I think the book has me beat, but I was so thrilled to have this one for breaking in my new set! Winter Owls Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White & Copper Clay CS; Copper Clay Ink; Winter Owls Dies; Copper Clay Glossy Dots; #TLC85. ![]() Our theme for the month of October at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #153 is Christmas flowers! I think I can pull it off with our lovely colors at Sunday Stamps #319, too! I know these look more like Fall, but I had a blast translating them into this cool and calm Christmas card! I pulled the little poinsettia from our Ringed With Nature stamp set, and did a couple in Merry Merlot, plus one more in Moody Mauve, then added details in Wild Wheat. I layered up some embossed Boho Blue over Merlot for my background and finished with a few clear Wonderful Gems for a little sparkle. I'm really pleased with how this came out, I wasn't sure it would, lol. And I didn't have to add any Pale Papaya (my choice for the last color, lol) to do it! I can't wait to see YOUR awesome projects for BOTH these challenges! Meet you there! Ringed With Nature Stamp Set; Basic White, Merry Merlot (retired) & Boho Blue CS; Merry Merlot (retired), Moody Mauve & Wild Wheat Inks; Timeworn Type EF; Wonderful Gems; #SCC153; #SSC319. ![]() So pretty - In{k}spire Me #515 has such a great combo for us this round - Fall colors AND a cool sketch! After lots of dithering, I finally got through it with this card. I'm afraid I strayed farther than I usually do, lol. It happens sometimes when an order of new stamps comes in - I get all distracted by my new toys! The first thing to go was the colors - I just really wanted to make a Christmas card today! I'm also not sure about my design, but I swear I started with the sketch! My pretty "Joyous" tag turned out larger than I thought, lol, so I just rolled with it. I did figure out how to bring the bow from the twine wrap up through the tag hole - I love how that worked out! I finished with a few Pretty Peacock sequins that I think look more like Shaded Spruce - shhh... Joy of Noel Stamp Set; Joy of Christmas DSP; Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; Simmer White EP; Joy of Noel & Tailor Made Tags Dies; Braided Linen Trim in Real Red; Sequins Trio; #IMC515. ![]() Pumpkin Club September 30! I have just the thing! So, I thought at first I was going to trot out my beloved Reach For The Stars suite, but then I finally got a chance to sort through my new O Holy Night DSP - WOW! There are several sheets of gorgeous starry papers, so I switched it up at the last second! I hope I have enough white space here, but I hated to cut that gorgeous DSP down anymore than this, lol. I floated a lovely holiday sentiment over it from the coordinating Night Divine set, and finished with a few tiny rhinestones. Just love it all! Night Divine Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White CS; Night of Navy Ink; Layering Ovals Dies (retired); Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #AAA249. ![]() What a great idea! Cardz 4 Guyz #331 has a "stars" theme going this round! You KNOW I had to run straight to my beloved Greatest Journey set, with its fabulous Enjoy The Journey DSP! This is just the perfect sentiment! I made a big chunky mountain to float over a stunning starry sky backdrop, so of course, that's the cardstock and ink I used, too - Starry Sky! I crack myself up sometimes, lol. Anyway, I added a pretty crescent moon, and doctored up a Deckled Rectangle for the sentiment, and finished with some tiny Orchid Oasis Matte Dots. At the last second, I slipped a paper glue dot behind the lantern, and then just didn't peel it, to make it look like the lantern was really lit! Sigh, still one of my all-time favorite suites ever! Greatest Journey Stamp Set (retired 2023); Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Starry Sky CS; Starry Sky Ink; Greatest Journey (retired) & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Orchid Oasis Matte Dots; #C4G331. ![]() Pumpkin Club September 30! After rummaging through my retired DSP bin for my Plaid Tidings pack, I also went for a browse through that vintage stamp collection I'm hosting for a bit, lol. I decided to pull out Turkey Talk from 2002 for this one! Such a cute collection, and not a style of images I usually gravitate towards, lol. I went with this cute Thanksgiving sentiment, and this robust cornucopia image - so fun to pull out all my Blends to color it up! In the end, I decided to fussy cut it, too, for a little added oomph! I finished with a few Fine Sparkle Gems that I thought could go with! I think this set might be growing on me, lol. Turkey Talk Stamp Set (retired 2002); Plaid Tidings DSP (retired); Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Early Espresso Ink; Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Wild Wheat, Cherry Cobbler & Blackberry Bliss Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Fine Sparkle Gems; #CIC578. ![]() Pumpkin Club September 30!
