Uh oh, another color challenge from this week's Merry Monday #104 - to use slate, kraft and white or cream! In Stampin' Up!'s world, that translates to Smoky Slate (yum!), Crumb Cake (double-yum!) and either Whisper White or Very Vanilla. Gorgeous! After browsing what stamp sets I want to use, I also decided to pair this up with this week's Retro Sketch #110 - the shapes sort of suggest these lines to me... Since we all know what a freak for layers I am, too, I also decided to sneak in a panel of Basic Gray to set off the card front. While the finished card looks a bit subdued, I am thrilled with the end result - perfect and reverent - even the inside. And before you say anything, NO, I wasn't trying to show snow in the desert - I was hoping it might come off as star-like, lol... Come To Bethlehem (retired) stamp set; Whisper White, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate & Crumb Cake CS & Inks; Versamark; Whisper White Embossing Powder; Decorative Dots & Snow Burst Embossing Folders; Stampin' Chalk Marker. I am so so so excited to let you know we've partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you the real deal-authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin' Up! colors and designs. If you've somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it's all about, we'll fill you in: it's a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It's a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it's all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them. I'll be able to preorder a limited selection of Project Life products starting April 21, so I should start having some samples for you to look at shortly after that. You'll be able to order that same selection of products starting May 1. And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you'll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products! Watch a video with a few more details here, and an intro by Shelli and Becky Higgens herself! And there's still time to sign up for our remaining Heartfelt Banner Classes! There's a day class available for Tuesday, April 22, 930 am, and a weekend class for those need a Saturday on Saturday, April 26, at 10 am. As always, if you find that these dates don't suit you, just let me know and we will make it work for you! All classes include snacks and drinks, as well as your little treat, of course, and are $20, or $5 with your own kit! RSVP today with your custom word or phrase for your spot! See you soon!

Ready for our next class? I'm excited to try another kit, this one from this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog - the Heartfelt Banner! The kit comes with lots of very sweet accessories, and of course, I've done my bit to add some extra details for us! All you need are your own pictures, or even quotes, and you don't need to bring them to class, you can add them later when you're ready, because they just clip on! Heck, the banner is cute without the pictures, too...
I know it's kind of hard to see, but the sample I made below features my younger sister's recent wedding, and I plan to send it to her for her birthday in May. Accordingly, I chose to add the phrase "true love." You can add any word or phrase of your choice, up to nine letters would work best for the banner. Maybe "family," "I love you," or "bad boys," lol... You choose! I have plenty of kits on hand (see what I did with MY Sale-A-Bration rewards??), all you need to do is let me know what word or phrase you want when you RSVP. Class will be $20, but, if you already have this kit, bring it along, and class is only $5! So, our Heartfelt Banner Class has several options - just pick what works best for you, or let me know if you want to shoot for a different time! First offering will be Thursday, April 17, 630 pm. I also have a day class available for Tuesday, April 22, 930 am. And finally, I can offer a weekend class for those need a Saturday for Saturday, April 26, at 10 am. As always, if you find that these dates don't suit you, just let me know and we will make it work for you! All classes include snacks and drinks, as well as your little treat, of course, and are $20, or $5 with your own kit! RSVP today for your spot! See you soon! Wow, I have had a TON of fun putting together the sample for our March class - a small tabletop topiary made using our new Spiral Flower Die! I've been seeing a few versions around that I really liked - I tried to incorporate my favorite elements from all of them - like touches of tulle, jumbo pearls, lacy bows - dreamy! I will be prepping like a mad-woman for you all again - see how I love you?! I promise that the project is totally doable in our time-frame, you know how I like us to be relaxed and snacking! Now, I left my sample white (Wedding Present!) but YOU will be able to color yours whatever color you want, with a color mister, or even a Smooch Spritzer, if you like - here's a little pink flower I tinted for you so you can get the idea... Quick and easy! You could even do multiple colors - I have some really sweet sample pictures of what that could look like... All you will need for class is a hot glue gun, and a bone folder if you have one! All other supplies provided - $25. So, RSVP now for Thursday, March 20, 630 pm, chez Heroldt! As always, snacks, drinks and merriment will abound! Those that would prefer a day class, just let me know, and I will set one up that works for you! PS. While I was at it, I totally couldn't resist trying out this idea I also saw for using the spiral to make pine cones, too - how adorable is this? I totally see these in our holiday future, lol... Like how I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make it look all snow-kissed? Yes, I AM wearing glitter today, lol! Oh wow, I have had so much fun making the sample of the Burlap & Blooms Wreath Kit that we planned on for our February class - you guys are going to love it! Super easy, without being TOO easy, if you know what I mean! I tried to stick to the basic kit mostly, for our sample, but I did slip a little, with a few extras already (mostly the bird and some butterflies, and well, ok, a couple spiral flowers so we can start practicing those for our March class, but that's IT!) , and I have lots of ideas for more, that will be available for you here to choose from! I'm so excited for you to make this project! So, our official class announcement is a bit early, because I'm going to a special treat of fancy taiko drumming on our usual date, sorry, so, class is announced for Thursday, February 27th, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, yummy treats and snacks waiting for you, of course! All materials and kits provided for you for $20, but you'll want to bring a bone folder and your hot glue gun for sure, if you have one. RSVP NOW to let me know you are coming, so I can make sure to have your kit waiting! And of course, let me know if you prefer a daytime class, and we will set it up! I know you've all been waiting with baited breath to see our first project of the year! I'm pleased to report that your many requests have been answered! This month, I though we'd try a version of the Father's Day "endless calendar" you all like so much, that sits down on my kitchen counter - what do you think?? I've shown a fairly naked version here - you will also have options to add ribbons and other decor, as you desire, to add a little more zing, but this is also sturdy and simple enough that it'd make good man-gift as is, too... Check out all the months below! I have prepped my buns off so that completion of this project is indeed possible in one night, so I hope you'll be there! RSVP NOW for the Flip Calendar Class, on Thursday, Jan 23, 630 pm, chez Heroldt. Class is $20 and includes all the supplies you need, except for your adhesive of choice! I will say, though, if you have a Crop-O-Dile, you might want to bring it for extra hole punching power! I have two, though, so no one will go without! There will be gifts and treats, of course, to help ring in the New Crafting Year! And if you need a day-time class, be sure to let me know, I'm always happy to add one, you know! PS. I have the dates I plan on offering the rest of this year's classes all set for you, and ideas for a our next couple of classes, too! Bring your ideas if there's something you want us to try! Be still, my heart! It's that time of year again - a big reveal for the upcoming 2014 Occasions Catalog and Sal-A-Bration, formerly known as the "Spring Mini!" Let me tell you, it was awfully tempting to make this a chicken card, lol! Instead, I decided to go for some Christmas cards - time to start production on my house card and various boards, whew! I decided to pull out my Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set again - you know, the one I still feel a bit conflicted about. Too bad, because it's too cute to not use on this sketch! I seem to be really into Blue Christmas this year, too, hmm... I love the simplicity of Fab Friday #31 - working with tag shapes can be so fun! For this card, I decided to play with the sweet photopolymer set Endless Wishes. I feel a bit of conflict about this - I finally broke down and ordered it, and the next day it sold out, never to return! I was flabbergasted! I've been enjoying these stamps sets so much, I forgot the fine print way back when they first started coming out - they're a little experiment, and are only available while supplies for that set last. This is the perfect time to stock up on some of your favorite items or to give something new a try. Click here for four pages of holiday goodness at amazing prices! Spreading cheer never looked so good! For this week's Pumpkin Gift at My Pumpkin Challenge #1113, I decided to give MYSELF a present, lol! One of the MANY cool things about Paper Pumpkin is that it comes with everything you need to create the featured project. Now, I know I haven't done a "featured" project yet (ahem), but, well, I'm starting to accumulated some pumpkin stuff. Paper stuff and scraps go in their own baggy, stamps are going in some Pumpkin stamp cases I started, but so far, all the Stampin' Spots have been taking up real estate in one of my project baskets. And at Christmas-time, that is some primo real estate! I have NO project baskets to spare! Thus, my Spot Storage Box was born! This gives me somewhere tidy to keep all these little suckers, til I can move them along to another home - I never open them since I have full-size version of all the colors anyway! Had a fun afternoon making my Pumpkin Mosaic for the storage box insert! Want to make your own? Dimensions are 11 1/4" x 7", scored on the long edge at 5" and 6 1/4". Make a nice second life for those scraps (and put a contents list on the inside, hee hee!) Paper Pumpkin Kits - Memo Medley, Wahoo, Good Life, and Pedal Praise; Wood-Mount Case, Full (p. 197!)
