Vroooom! Time for another speed challenge at As You See It #295! Let's start our clocks and hit the outdoors! With less than two weeks til our annual trip to Maui, I pretty much have "beach" on the brain 24/7 right now, lol. With that thought, I checked out our new Seaside Bay suite that I broke down and got - some cute elements, and different enough from my other ocean-y sets, I decided. As I flipped through the DSP, though, the sheet I fell for the most was this lovely with all the seashells - which sent me straight back to the Friends Are Like Seashells set! That would be a tough one, but I like a challenge! So I thought the card all the way through, and assembled EVERYTHING I needed for each step, even moving my Big Shot right next to me, and laying out all the dies I'd need. I also chopped up my stamped shells CS ahead of time, because THAT die is one giant die, sigh. I originally wanted to tousle metallic thread behind the sentiment, and switched to our old Gold Hoops as faster. And no fussing with layers - I went with an edge-to-edge full cover for my card front. So with all that prep, I JUST squeaked in at 9 minutes, 57 seconds - and that doesn't include the envelope, which I think is fair, lol. My office looks like a tornado went through it! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy projects for this one - meet you there! Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set; By The Bay DSP; Basic White CS; Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, Pool Party & Balmy Blue Inks; Seaside Seashells & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Gold Hoop (retired); Opal Rounds; #AYSI295. Hm, which way should I go for The Flower Challenge #78's die cuts OR stencils challenge?? Die cuts win! The first set I thought of for that was our amazing In Bloom bundle, which retired last year. I love the dies so much that I rarely even USE the floral stamps, lol. I decided to go all out with some bold brights for my blossoms and leaves, and even did a background panel in our gorgeous Stitched Greenery die, too. I tried out that die on the envelope flap as well - it looks pretty darn cool, but I'm not sure it shows in the picture very well. I love all these cheery colors together, and resisted adding extra embellishments after I added centers to my tiny accent flowers. I think it's over-the-top enough already! In Bloom Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody & Daffodil Delight CS; Granny Apple Green Ink; Pierced Blooms (retired), Stylish Shapes & Stitched Greenery Dies; Classic Matte Dots; #TFC78. I sure hope you like our fun party colors this round at Sunday Stamps #305! Today I started my Spring drive to make sure I hunt down sets that I haven't used enough, to give them some love. Welcoming Window is one I have been fascinated with, yet somehow never seem to pull out for stamping! Since I feel like I spy a little gray in our popping colors, I settled on this one so I could sneak in some bricks to take care of the gray, then spread the rest of my bright colors over all my pieces! I wish I had a little cabin with Orchid Oasis trim - so cute! I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our pretty colors - meet you there! Welcoming Window Stamp Set; Basic White & Gray Granite CS; Gray Granite, Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet & Tahitian Tide Inks; Basic Black Blend Marker; Window Flower Box & Stylish Shapes Dies; Parakeet Party Matte Dots; #SSC305. Such a great challenge for us at AAA Birthday #47 this month - dots and/or stripes! I really wanted to find a stamped image for today's challenge - I'm not so good with the stripes element, and I feel like I've been doing many dots recently, lol. I switched over to the Shelves of Retirement for inspiration browsing, and eventually came across last year's Kite Delight. How about that! There's a kite with stripes AND dots! I was sold, and I knew right away I wanted to do a cloudy background with this sheet from the Enjoy the Journey pack - perfect! I totally pinky-swear that my birthday sentiment from this set is on the inside, too! Kite Delight Stamp Set (retired 2022); Enjoy the Journey DSP; Basic White & Coastal Cabana CS; Mango Melody & Coastal Cabana Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Blender Pen; Fine Sparkle Gems; #AAAB47. Festive Friday #129 has a St. Patrick's challenge this run! I'm in! I carefully chose a few elements that would let me get away without actually using a St. Pat's sentiment, lol. I think I did that pretty well, lol! I have some green, some gold, a punny sentiment and some drinks! This card is a homage to my Grandmother, who once dyed my milk green for dinner for St. Patrick's when I was a kid, lol. It stands out in my memory as a meal where no one drank anything - I think she got my Dad and Grandpa's beer, too. Yikes! I do remember TRYING the milk, at least, lol. Brewed For You Stamp Set; Dandy Designs DSP (SAB 2023); Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Granny Apple Green Inks; Brewed & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Textured Weave Ribbon; Gilded Gems; #FF0129. Very fun - Cardz 4 Guyz #316 would like to see a "sporting chance" this round! I decided to go with my Adventurous Journey set for this one - kayaking is a GREAT sport! I love to color this guy in, and float him over a cool puddle cut with our Diorama Dies, lol. So fun! I should add a fishing pole somehow! Adventurous Journey Stamp Set; Rings of Love DSP (retired); Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Night of Navy Inks; Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, SU700, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive & Cajun Craze Blends Markers; Layering Diorama Dies; Enamel Dot Essentials; #C4G316. Enjoy the Journey Suite Focus Class! Today will be all about the gorgeous Enjoy the Journey suite, found on pages 58-59 of the Spring Mini catalog, and will feature at least 5 cards and envelopes, and maybe even a decor item! Class will provide all materials needed (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!), snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, March 11, at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! This is a cool one to celebrate - Festive Friday #128 is featuring World Music Therapy Day! I know I could have gone with the fabulous (and still current, lol) Enjoy the Rhythm for this one, but I really didn't get the chance to play enough with last year's For The Record! Love this set! This record looks so awesome heat-embossed in black, I just couldn't resist! I kept things fairly simple, and stuck to Black and Pool Party for my colors - I really like this contrast! I layered some Merry Melody embossed Pool Party over Basic Black, and tied with some Black twine, and popped up my shiny record and sweet sentiment over this. A few Classic Matte Dots finishes things off! So cute! So I chose Notes, Record and Twine - just right! For The Record Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Basic Black & Pool Party CS; Versamark & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Black EP; Pool Party Blends Marker; Merry Melody EF; Layering Circles Dies; Black Baker's Twine; Classic Matte Dots; #FF0128. So exciting! Time Out Challenges #232 is celebrating a BIG milestone - their 9th birthday! Let's make them a card! I have SO not used my super-cute Silly Goose set enough - and it has a goose all dressed up and ready to party! I kept the card bright and simple - LOVE this sheet from our Dandy Designs pack, it's such a great collection! The coloring was also super simple, since geese are white, lol. A few Mango Melody touches on beak and feet, and some Granny Apple Green accents to match the DSP and we are done! Such a cutie! Silly Goose Stamp Set; Dandy Designs DSP; Basic White & Mango Melody CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Granny Apple Green Inks; Mango Melody & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Textured Weave Ribbon in Granny Apple Green; Mango Melody Milky Dots; #TOC232. We're back with a tasty new recipe for you at this round's As You See It #293! I started out by browsing my DSP stash for some pinks. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am falling a little OUT of love with Blushing Bride these days, and I seem to have several packs that feature it right now, lol. But then, my gorgeous Enjoy the Journey pack peeked out, and I remembered this sheet with the fabulous Melon Mambo mountains! This sheet always makes me think of Maui - which is all mountains and beautiful bold colors to me! So I pulled my retired Timeless Tropical bundle and went from there! I have hibiscus and plumeria for my shades of pink blossoms, my fave new Basics EF, and my deep Iridescent Pearls for accents! I even found my little distressing tool so I could go over my layer edges! I'm really pleased with how this came out, even though I covered up most of my awesome pink mountain! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for this round - start cookin'! Timeless Tropical Stamp Set (retired 2022); Enjoy the Journey DSP; Basic White & Polished Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo & Petal Pink Blends Markers; Something Fancy & In the Tropics (retired) Dies; Basic 3D EF 2; Iridescent Pearls; #AYSI293. Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by March 10 and you can join us in time for next month! I'm super excited by AAA Birthday #46's challenge to use stencils this round - fun! I grabbed my pack of Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, and looked them over for ideas first. Looks like these are more layering masks - cool! I picked some that I liked, and decided for a sort of freeform blob of stenciling, light enough that I could stamp a birthday sentiment right over it... Let's go purple today! Yum! I started with a base chevron layer in Fresh Freesia, with details picked out in Gorgeous Grape. I stamped this big gorgeous sentiment from Framed Florets over all that in Blackberry Bliss - now THAT'S purple! Lol. It was a huge bonus when I realized that two of my purples are in the new Opaque Adhesive Backed Gems, and I haven't even used them yet! Done! Framed Florets Stamp Set; Basic White & Gorgeous Grape CS; Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Artistic Mix Decorative Masks; Blending Brush; Fresh Freesia & Gorgeous Grape Opaque Gems; #AAAB46. |
