There's still time to play at this month's "no stamping" challenge at Christmas Craft Creations! You gotta try this! For the reminder post, I once again went for dies and DSP, lol. Always thinking of the envelope! Anyway, this one didn't come out quite as I had envisioned. I think the choice of DSP started giving me a "countrified" vibe, so I ended up rolling with that, lol. I combined three different trees using the Perfect Pines dies, and got my sentiment from my old Christmas Greetings set. I use these dies quite a bit, and as usual, I stacked up three layers to give the "merry" even more lift! I also got to try out our new Lemon Lolly for the stars - it's definitely brighter than So saffron was. I finished with some Fine Sparkle Gems - gotta have a little shine for Christmas trees! Perfect Pines & Christmas Greetings Dies (both retired 2015); Storybook Gnomes DSP; Basic White, Balmy Blue; Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron (retired), Soft Sea Foam, Lemon Lolly & Poppy Parade CS; Fine Sparkle Gems; #CCCMay2023. I'm so excited to guest design this month at Christmas Craft Creation's May challenge - and it's a doozy! NO STAMPING! On purpose! I went and pulled some likely dies for this one - think I found just the thing (or two, lol.) I think I'll keep our Wreath Builder dies forever - so many great combos! For my sentiment, I layered together my "peace" using our Joy dies. Both of these are retired keepers, for sure! I wanted to play a little with some new and returning colors, too, so I combined Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue - so pretty together! I did a tiny bit of highlighting with White, too - it really pops! And so glad I had some first-run DSP left for Misty Moonlight, so I could do something on the envelope with it, too - no naked envelopes! Wreath Builder (retired 2021) & Joy (retired 2020) Dies; Misty Moonlight DSP; Basic White, Misty Moonlight & Boho Blue CS; All The Trimmings Embellishments (retired); #CCCMay2023. New Catty Preview Class May 13! So excited to share some NEW NEW NEW goodies with you from the new Annual Catalog! So many cute things to choose from to kick off the catalog year! Class will include 6 all-occasion cards and envelopes, to whet your appetite for new toys! All supplies are included (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!) as well as snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, May 13 at 2 pm - RSVP today to save your spot! Well, with the first of May, we at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #448 want to see you "sleigh-ing" it! I was a little nervous at first that I didn't HAVE any sleighs, lol, but then I remembered my Jingle All The Way set from 2015! I had actually just placed this in the "for sale" box I'm building, lol, but I guess it gets to get back to the shelf now - I really do NEED it! Anyway, I did double layers for the trees and the sleigh, so I could have some pops of color against all that snow, and then I felt like I really needed some rhinestones, too, against that brilliant sky - my fave sheet from the Enjoy The Journey DSP pack! I can't wait to see all YOUR sleighs, let's hear those bells jingling! Meet you there! Jingle All The Way Stamp Set (retired 2015); Enjoy The Journey DSP; Basic White, Shaded Spruce & Early Espresso CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Sleigh Ride Dies (retired); Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #SCC448. Excellent! Christmas Craft Creation's April challenge is to show some humor! I'm on it! I think the funniest Christmas set I have is my old Visions of Santa from 2014 - the Santa images are hilarious, and even the moose wears a union suit, lol. I picked two I wanted to feature today, and a new layout for the fun big sentiment - it all looks great over this dotty Real Red DSP! Some quick coloring with my Blends, and a few finishing Matte Black Dots finish things off! Still so fun to play with! Visions of Santa Stamp Set (retired 2014); Real Red DSP; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red & SU700 Blends Markers; Matte Black Dots; #CCCApril23. Pumpkin Club April 29! Love it - the March theme for this round's Christmas Craft Creations is "one layer!" I really wanted to use my Hope & Peace set today - LOVE all these sentiments for the holidays! I decided to pull in the still-gorgeous Christmas Season to decorate one edge - love all the two-step stamps in this one - I can add just that little bit more to each element! I mixed some color-on-color with stamping off, and I love the results! A few tiny Matte Decorative Dots in Cherry Cobbler add just the right touch - I so love my embellies, lol! Christmas Season & Hope & Peace Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Cherry Cobbler, Soft Succulent, Mossy Meadow & Crumb Cake Inks; Matte Decorative Dots in Cherry Cobbler. No foolin' - time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #147! Let's see some presents or parcels this round! I decided to go with my yummy Nothing Sweeter set from 2018 for this one - there's a present cookie in there, too! I kept things simple (and crunchy) and since I used this pretty Crumb Cake sheet from my old Tidings of Christmas pack, I chose the rest of my colors from that, too! Maybe too much frosting? I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our presents round - meet you there! Nothing Sweeter Stamp Set (Retired 2018); Tidings of Christmas DSP (retired); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Sweetly Stitched (retired) & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Wonderful Gems; #SCC147. This looks SUPER fun - AAA #236 wants to see something inspired by a movie, song or book! Challenge accepted! Surveying my stamps, I finally decided I had the most choice in the Christmas department. Once I managed that, I settled on using Santa's Delivery - I just didn't use this enough last year! I started putting together this big elaborate scene, with lots of characters, and remembered at the last second - gotta keep it CAS! Whew! So I colored up this cute train engine, and finished with a few action details. I think I'm channeling the Jackson 5 version of this song today! Santa's Delivery Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Real Red Inks; Real Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate, Pool Party & SU 1000 Blends Markers; Santa's Train Dies (retired); Adhesive-Backed Stars (retired); #AAA236. Time for another challenge at NBUS #48! I have just the thing! Right at the end of our Holiday Catty, the mother ship let us know that Regal Reindeer and its dies would be carrying over, but NOT as a bundle, so I quick snagged it while I could still get the discounted price. I didn't do this set at all for last year's holiday classes, so I have a feeling we'll see at this year's Christmas in July, lol. Anyway, what a great set to break in here! I had some fun setting up a little snowy scene - these reindeer really ARE regal! Regal Reindeer Stamp Set; Basic White & Evening Evergreen CS; Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Crumb Cake, Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight & Petal Pink Blends Markers; Blender Pen; Reindeer & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (retired); NBUS48. I'm super excited about this fun cue from Time Out Challenge #233 - "elegant!" I took a few to think about what says elegant to me - graceful script, lovely botanicals, tasteful metallics and embellies. I think I hit on just the right combo when I grabbed my Framed & Festive holiday set that came out with the pre-release of Framed Florets. I still have the DSP, too, so I picked a holiday-ish sheet and went from there! This gold frame is still my favorite die in this collection, and I added a few botanicals to go with, and finished with our new Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls. I was worried I was going overboard, but it's growing on me now! Framed & Festive Stamp Set (retired); Fitting Florets DSP (retired); Basic White & Gold Foil CS; Evening Evergreen Ink; Framed Florets Dies; Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls; #TOC233. Time for Sparkles Christmas Challenge #146 - can't believe it's March ALREADY! This round, we want to see some warm winter clothes! The warmest dressed Christmas buddy I have is this little Inuit sweetie from 2019's Cookie Cutter Christmas. Doesn't he look toasty-warm?? I love his traditional snow gear, and tried to color it in natural colors for his surroundings! I gave him a nice wintery setting using a sheet from the retired Trimming The Town DSP pack - I carefully trimmed out ALL the town, lol. Being a desert girl now, I think I'd have to dress this well to survive in a real winter these days! I can't wait to see YOUR winter togs for us this round - meet you there! Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set (retired 2019); Trimming The Town DSP (retired); Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Pool Party, SU100 & SU600 Blends Markers; Night of Navy Baker's Twine; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #SCC146. |
