Ooo! Time for another round at Christmas Craft Creations, and this time, they want to see the PINK! I decided to pull my Christmas Season/Christmas to Remember out again - technically, these two are among my very few "still current" Christmas sets, since they came from the Annual Catty, lol. I knew right away I wanted to try my hand at some pinecones in pink! Since I used this little strip of my fave sheet from our now-retired Celebrate Everything DSP, I tried a Flirty Flamingo and Polished Pink combo - I think I have a little too much Flamingo going on, lol. Anyway, I finished with some Polished Pink Opals, too, and I think I've finally mastered putting the two-step pinecone together, at least! Christmas Season & Christmas to Remember Stamp Sets; Celebrate Everything DSP (retired); Basic White & Polished Pink CS; Polished Pink & Flirty Flamingo Inks; Seasonal Labels Dies; Polished Pink Opal Rounds; #CCCPink.

It must be the first of the month, because it's time for a new Christmas challenge! We at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #145 would like to see some non-traditional colors on your cards this round! When I think non-traditional colors for Christmas, I think BRIGHT, lol. I love putting the shockers out there, and usually using traditional holiday images, like this fluorescent trio of candy canes! I used our just-retired Sweet Candy Canes set to make some In Color beauties, and floated them all over a sparkly panel of Orchid Oasis - I'll have to get my shades out, lol. I finished with a few Frosted Droplets I found to add some points of light - simple and quick! I can't wait to see YOUR non-traditional color projects this month - meet you at the challenge! Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White & Orchid Oasis Glimmer CS; Tahitian Tide, Polished Pink, Parakeet Party & Orchid Oasis Inks; Candy Cane Dies; Frosted Droplets; #SCC145. This should be fun - Christmas Craft Creations would like to see a scrappy card for January! They call it a "snippets" challenge! I actually was going through my retired Christmas papers stash, and came across a little partial pack I had forgotten about completely - the Tidings of Christmas pack. I think it was a special release for something, and I didn't have enough time to really go to town on it. But it still had plenty of scraps! I went with a classic scrappy tree, lol, and finished with this lovely Christmas sentiment from Christmas to Remember, and both sizes of our retro Adhesive-Backed Stars. Quick and fun! Christmas to Remember Stamp Set; Tidings of Christmas DSP (retired); Basic White & Evening Evergreen CS; Evening Evergreen Ink; Seasonal Labels Dies; Adhesive-Backed Stars; #CCCSnippets. Once Upon a Time #6 is featuring The Snowy Day this month! To be honest, I'm not too sure about where I've ended up on this one, lol. I actually don't know the story of this classic book {blush} and my final scene doesn't resemble the cover at all! But, I started off by thinking about footprints in the snow. I thought I would end up going back to the moose, because I knew off the top of my head that there are footprints in that one, but I checked my shelf of this year's sets just in case. And the Trees For Sale set jumped right out at me! I had totally forgotten about this little dog and HIS tracks, pretty sure I never used either, I was so focused on that darling camper, lol. So that's how I got here, with not enough red! Trees For Sale & Penguin Place Stamp Sets (both retired now, sigh); Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede & Real Red Inks; Tree Lot Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #OUT6. So cute - Cupcake Inspirations #560 has a "winter fun" theme going! When I saw this cute cascade of skiers on cupcakes, I immediately flashed onto a set of hoarded DSP I have - our old Trimming the Town pack (2020, I think?) had a couple full sheet scenery pages in it, featuring tiny people out doing their winter thing! I rarely use these sheets - it hurts to cut into them for me, lol. But today, I couldn't resist cutting out this little scene of skaters on the town pond, enjoying some Winter fun! I matched this sentiment from 2017's Hug in a Mug, so it doesn't HAVE to be a Christmas card - though that's where I'll file it! Hug in a Mug Stamp Set (retired 2017); Trimming the Town DSP (retired); Basic White & Poppy Parade CS; Poppy Parade Ink; Deckled Rectangle & Ornate Frames (retired) Dies; Poppy Parade Baker's Twine; Fine Sparkle Gems; #CIC560. I'm so tickled that I found another Christmas challenge to try - I need all the help I can get to restock, lol. Christmas Craft Creations is running a gnome challenge! I LOVE the gnome we can build with the fabulous Gnomes dies that accompanied our Kindest Gnomes set. Even more exciting, the dies are carrying over, to go with a new gnome set in the Spring catty! Together with my build-a-gnome, I matched him up with my favorite sheet from the Storybook Gnomes DSP - love all these trees! I'm actually not convinced that the color for them is listed on the pack - I see our retired Just Jade personally, so I did my hat in that, lol. A simple layout, for a handsome Christmas fellow! Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set; Storybook Gnomes DSP; Basic White, Soft Suede, Soft Sea Foam, Just Jade, Petal Pink & Early Espresso CS; Soft Suede Ink; Whimsical Trees EF; Gnomes & Stylish Shapes Dies; Adhesive-Backed Stars; #CCCGnomes. Lol, sneaking into another new-to-me challenge over the holidays! This is AAA #230 - they have a CAS non-traditional Christmas colors challenge going! Looking over these images, I went straight to those pretty purple ornaments! Yes! Bonus - one more chance to play Decorated With Happiness before it retires, too, lol. I did my ornaments in Blackberry Bliss, and lengthened a couple strings with a Stamp-n-Write marker. I filled in with scribbles in three different purples, added a few simple stamped sparkles and finished with the sentiment. I'm all stamp-ink-paper today! Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set; Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Rich Razzleberry & Highland Heather Inks; Blackberry Bliss Stamp-n-Write Markers; Ornate Frames Dies (retired); #AAA230. Whew! Here we go again - time to kick off another year of Christmas cards with Sparkles #144 - let's see some sparkle and glitter! I couldn't resist doing another Decorated With Happiness card - this time I did the fancy ornaments, in gold glimmer paper - so festive! I spent some time building an extra fluffy pine branch for them all to hang on, and heat-embossed my sentiment over a splash of Real Red. So fun! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our sparkle and glitter challenge - meet you there! Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set; Basic White, Granny Apple Green & Gold Glimmer CS; Granny Apple Green & Versamark Inks; White EP; Soft Suede Stamp-n-Write Marker; Decorated Pine & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; Wintry 1 EF; SCC144. I'm so delighted to see this challenge from Can You Handle the Pressure - snow! For my papers, I knew I wanted to pull in my favorite sheet from the Storybook Gnomes DSP pack - love all these blues! I floated an embossed panel in silver with one of the Wintry dies - love all the movement on the snow one, lol. I went back to the shelves of retirement for my stamps! Alpine Adventure from 2018 is still a favorite, and I figured the sled was just right for the snow! I dressed it up with my Woodgrain background stamp from way back in 2010! I'm so happy with all my snow elements! Alpine Adventure (retired 2018) & Woodgrain (retired 2010) Stamp Sets; Storybook Gnomes DSP; Basic White, Pool Party, Silver Foil & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Wintry 2 EF; Rhinestones Waves Basic Jewels; Linen Thread; #CYHTPSnow. So cool - I found another new-to-me challenge called Daring Cardmakers - what a great name! They have a one-word prompt running - "believe!" This prompt makes me think right away of Santa, lol, and in particular, the famous line from Miracle on 34th Street! We always watch this movie on Thanksgiving, when they show it after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, because, well, the historic parade is IN the movie, lol. Our retired Christmas Means More set from 2020 even has the quote - you know I had to pull that out! I matched it with my favorite vintage and realistic Santa, the Santa's List set from 2013. An oldie and still goodie! I kept it simple, and Santa front and center - you better watch out! Santa's List (retired 2013) & Christmas Means More (retired 2020) Stamp Sets; Basic White, Real Red & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Real Red, Crumb Cake & SU700 Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangle Dies; Wonderful Gems; #DCMBelieve.
