![]() Yay! CAS on Friday #247 has a Christmas challenge this round - never to early to start restocking the Christmas box, lol! I decided to frame up this little caroling mouse with my Stitched With Whimsy dies - I don't remember to sue them too often! They make a great faux-layer when working on CAS cards! Anyway, I floated my mouse over the pretty light pole, and did this little carol phrase from Vintage Christmas for a sentiment. Simple, but sweet, I think! Caroling Mice & Vintage Christmas Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Stitched With Whimsy Dies; #CASOF247. ![]() Pumpkin Club Dec 31! ![]() So excited, I actually have time to sneak in for In{k}spire Me #495 - they want to see a decoration, and I have just the thing! One of the things I like to do at the end of my big hurrah of Christmas card season is play around with all my scraps. I always figure I have to make room for the new papers coming my way! This year, I seemed to have LOTS of 1" strips in my scraps, and I remembered a project I did for our wedding 23 years ago. I had found a kit for these paper stars by Martha Stewart - yes, before my SU! days, lol. I made a zillion of them in all sizes and we hung them on a pretty tree the florist made for the reception. ANYWAY, could I figure out how to make them again? Could I make them BIGGER? Of course I could! Turns out they're called Moravian Stars, and I found a great little tutorial here that refreshed my memory. I think I'm already making next year's neighborhood gifts - and having so much fun doing it! Such a cool look with our two-sided DSP! Some I'll hang in singles, but I'm thinking about making some chains of smaller ones, too! Papers used: Celebrate Everything, Painted Christmas & Sweetest Christmas DSP. ![]() Pumpkin Club Dec 31! Time to dig deep, lol... After a nice long browse on the shelves of retirement, I finally spotted my beloved So Santa set from 2018. Scooter Santa has a nice big bag of presents slung from his back! Whew! I put together a simple layout, and showed Santa popping a little wheelie, leaving this cute sentiment behind! I like how swapping the image and the sentiment almost adds movement to this one! So Santa Stamp Set (retired 2018); Sweetest Christmas DSP; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake; Sweet Sorbet & SU700 Blends Markers; Wonderful Gems; #SOS486. ![]() Pumpkin Club Dec 31! Perfect timing! I decided right away I wanted to do STAMPED gifts - my gifts are ready to go already, lol. The catch is, I really don't have any great stamps for gifts! How does this happen?? I finally spotted this cute stack in our upcoming Warm Welcome set, so I grabbed those. Since I wanted to do DSP accents in Sweetest Christmas DSP (who doesn't love candy cane paper?) I grabbed the Sweet Candy Canes set as well. I stamped a few present stacks and raided my scraps to come up with this quick landscape layout. A few Sweet Sorbet accents, and we are done! Sweet Candy Canes & Warm Welcome Stamp Sets; Sweetest Christmas DSP; Basic White & Sweet Sorbet CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo & Sweet Sorbet Blends Markers; Garden Green Stamp-n-Write Marker; Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine; Sweet Sorbet Matte Dots; #MMM180. ![]() Pumpkin Club Dec 31! Another set I'm super sad to see retire is the gorgeous and versatile Spruced Up bundle. I can't believe how many times I pulled this one out! Love the trees, lol. Anyway, I decided to use an ornament that I haven't even inked up yet this time, and I did one each in Real Red and Old Olive. I added the star accents when I spotted it in the dies, lol. I floated them over a panel of embossed Whimsical Trees, and finished with a last few details - quick and cute! Cupcake Inspirations #559 is closing out the year with this tasty "Happy Holidays" theme! For whatever reason, these yummy cupcakes made me want to do a wreath for this challenge! I don't actually have a current wreath set going right now, so I decided to bid a fond farewell to Mistletoe Magic! The smaller sprig is perfect for setting in a wreath shape! I colored the berries in Cherry Cobbler, which I know is NOT mistletoe cannon, but I wanted to bump up the festive, lol. The subtle shimmer of a little Wonk of Stella on them does wonders! Such a cutie, I couldn't add any embellies! Mistletoe Magic Stamp Set; Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & Shaded Spruce CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen & Cherry Cobbler Blends Markers; Basic Black & Cherry Cobbler Stamp-n-Write Markers; Mistletoe Dies; Pinewood Planks EF (retired); #CIC559. ![]() Just right - The Flower Challenge #75 has Christmas for their theme this month! I decided to go with Vintage Christmas today - I love these pretty bottles! I used the shorter bottle for a change, since I knew I wouldn't be punching this one out. This left me with just a bit more room for the very tall flower arrangement that goes with it - perfect! I did an all-over background in DSP from Sweetest Christmas, and used inks in the coordinating colors for that paper pack - very vintage, lol. I popped up the sentiment and finished with more Wonderful Gems. Very sweet! Vintage Christmas Stamp Set; Sweetest Christmas DSP; Very Vanilla CS; Pool Party, Real Red, Early Espresso & Garden Green Inks; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Wonderful Gems; #TFC75. ![]() Right on point - Shopping Our Stash #485 is all about the holiday greenery with their holly and ivy challenge! The Christmas Season stamp set is far and away my favorite holiday greenery set! I love to combine it with its original suite partner, Christmas to Remember, too! I did a simple layout to show both these sets off, and went crazy with the greens! So fun to combine our Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen for a two-tone green, and they look gorgeous with our Merry Merlot! I'm so happy with this card, and all the coordinating dies made it super easy, too! Christmas Season & Christmas to Remember Stamp Sets; Basic White & Evening Evergreen CS; Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen & Merry Merlot Inks; Pinewood Planks EF (retired); Seasonal Labels Dies; Gilded Gems; #SOS485. ![]() Ah ha - Once Upon a Time #5 has the perfectly appropriate The Legend of the Poinsettia for us this month! Once again, I'm not familiar with this story, but I took my cue from the lovely cover, and decided to do a candle arrangement with poinsettias. I combined two retired sets for it - the candles are from Sweetest Time, which retired in 2020. I filled in my poinsettias and sentiment from Poinsettia Petals, which retired earlier this year! It makes a great combo, I think! Sweetest Time (retired 2020) & Poinsettia Petals (retired 2022) Stamp Sets; Real Red, Granny Apple Green & Basic White CS; Real Red, Crushed Curry, Memento Tuxedo Black & Granny Apple Green Inks; Poinsettia Dies (retired); Wonderful Gems; #OUAT5. ![]() Such an adorable gingerbread house for us at this month's If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #175! Let's play! We actually have a current set that would be great for this challenge, but, you know me! I went straight to the shelves of retirement to pull 2018's Sweet Home set! I love this set still because the dies for it build 3-D gingerbread houses - so cool! I still have a couple for my tree this year as ornaments! Anyway, I wanted to make a "flat" one today for a card - not too shabby! I built my little candy cottage and floated it over some Sweetest Christmas DSP to set everything off - it came out really festive! Sweet Home Stamp Set (retired 2018); Sweetest Christmas DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Real Red & Old Olive Inks; Home Sweet Home Dies (retired); Adhesive Backed Stars; #Cookie175. ![]() Spring Mini & SAB Preview Class Dec 17, 2 pm I can't believe it, but it's already time to take a sneaky peek at some upcoming goodies in our Spring Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration!
