Even though we're taking a much-needed breather at My Pumpkin Challenge this week, I still think of this as Pumpkin Wednesday, lol! And what better way to show off our Pumpkins than by hooking up with this week's Retro Sketch #158?? So, I even decided to keep a square card base to go with the sketch, which, in my opinion, also pairs perfectly with the elements of Sew You! I started with a layer from one of our card base choices in the Pumpkin Kit, then used one of the sewing cards to trace the curve called for in my blue layer. I used that same punched piece as a template to pierce the "you" onto a piece of Daffodil Delight, which I then stitched with our white Baker's Twine instead of the yellow floss from the kit. It's like it all just fell into place! Paper Pumpkin - Sew You; plus, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White CS; White Baker's Twine; Pool Party Ink (on envelope); Star Punch (to flag sentiment.) Mother's Day Corsage Class I am so excited to announce this class - and I'm THRILLED with how our project came out! You will be, too! This month we will be making a beautiful corsage for that special lady in your life: Mom, BFF, inspiration in your life (maybe even yourself - you deserve it!) - to wear again and again. The corsage is made up with a sample of each flower type in the gorgeous Build A Bouquet Project kit from our Occasions Mini catalog, and comes with a hat pin and stopper for fixing in place. I have prepped each kit for us, and divvied everything out ahead of time to make this class ride on rails: I'll be working right along with you to help further explain all the tricks I learned along the way! Class is announced for Thursday April 9, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, or Saturday, April 11, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. Class is $20, and includes all supplies and instructions, plus snacks, drinks and a gift! Just bring your usual kit, and a hot glue gun! RSVP now so I can make sure to have your supplies prepped and ready for you! (And be sure to let me know if you need different dates - I'm always happy to work with your schedule!)

I really like this clean landscape layout at this week's SU-per Challenge #82. I know I only just squeezed in my top layer by doing this, but I decided to leave my card as a standard card base, so I didn't have to make an envelope, too. So lazy! I'm still happy with how this came out - these colors play so well together! I even remembered to put a white panel inside against the dark base. I know JUST who I'm sending this to! You're Wonderful Stamp Set; Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Garden Green, Calypso Coral & Pistachio Pudding Inks; Corner Rounder Punch; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Hello again, my pretties! We're going to try something a little different for our summer classes, since we're all so busy partying! Here's how it will work: Did you miss out on a past project that we did? Have a gap in your shadow box insert collection? Gave away your creation and wish you still had one for your house? Missing a wreath for your seasonal decor? Want an old project updated with a new twist? Now's your chance to make it happen! For the months of June and July, we'll be having summer school - your chance to take any past class you want! Browse our past offerings, or describe to me something you remember us doing (this blog only goes back to early 2012) and then just email me which one you'd like to make up or repeat, and if you prefer day, evening or weekend. We'll schedule just for you, and work around your summer plans! No need to worry about being away for our regular class nights! Once classes are scheduled, I'll post them here, so if anyone else wants to jump in on your choice, they can! I'm looking forward to our nostalgic summer - talk to you soon! Oh wow - Merry Monday #107 is an actual sketch this week! At first glance, it looks like a challenge, too - time to break this baby down! Since SU! (and I mean this in the nicest possible way, with love in my heart!) isn't even pretending to include holiday stamps in the main catalog anymore (and I know this because I have your new catalogs waiting for you!), I have now totally lost all residual guilt I feel about browsing my retired stamp sets for this challenge, lol. One of my old faves, that totally didn't see enough ink, is this one, Rejoicing With You - love that partyin' angel! While I was at first intimidated by the tricky layers in this sketch, I decided to take my usual liberties with shapes, and arrived at a finished card that I actually liked! I even got to make two, so you could see the inside sentiment! Woo hoo! Rejoicing With You (retired) Stamp Set; Smoky Slate, Whisper White & Island Indigo CS; Winter Frost DSP Pack (retired); Versamark, Island Indigo & Smoky Slate Inks; Silver Embossing Powder; Apothecary Accents & Ovals Collection Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template; Frosted Finishes Embellishments (retired). Pop-Up Card Class May 15! Wow - I can't believe I almost forgot to post our class for next week, too! Yikees! This class is all about Pop-Up cards, like the first sample you can see over here to the side! We'll be making 4 cards, that all fold flat and fit in standard envelopes, but pop up and out to yummy goodness on the inside! We'll be doing "portrait" and "landscape" cards both, for a little variety, and one card will be all about our new In Colors, so you'll have some samples right away, to go with your amazing new catalog that will be waiting here for you! I can't wait for you to try these cards - you'll be stunned at how fun they are to deck out! I'll keep posting the other samples - keep checking back! So, class is announced for Thursday, May 15, 6:30 pm, chez Heroldt, with snacks and drinks as usual, of course, still for $20! RSVP today to make sure I have your supplies cut and waiting for you! I am also delighted to schedule a convenient day-time class for those that prefer, or a Saturday as well, just let me know, and we'll get our calendars aligned for whatever works for you best!! Ready for our next class? I'm excited to try another kit, this one from this year's Sale-A-Bration catalog - the Heartfelt Banner! The kit comes with lots of very sweet accessories, and of course, I've done my bit to add some extra details for us! All you need are your own pictures, or even quotes, and you don't need to bring them to class, you can add them later when you're ready, because they just clip on! Heck, the banner is cute without the pictures, too...
I know it's kind of hard to see, but the sample I made below features my younger sister's recent wedding, and I plan to send it to her for her birthday in May. Accordingly, I chose to add the phrase "true love." You can add any word or phrase of your choice, up to nine letters would work best for the banner. Maybe "family," "I love you," or "bad boys," lol... You choose! I have plenty of kits on hand (see what I did with MY Sale-A-Bration rewards??), all you need to do is let me know what word or phrase you want when you RSVP. Class will be $20, but, if you already have this kit, bring it along, and class is only $5! So, our Heartfelt Banner Class has several options - just pick what works best for you, or let me know if you want to shoot for a different time! First offering will be Thursday, April 17, 630 pm. I also have a day class available for Tuesday, April 22, 930 am. And finally, I can offer a weekend class for those need a Saturday for Saturday, April 26, at 10 am. As always, if you find that these dates don't suit you, just let me know and we will make it work for you! All classes include snacks and drinks, as well as your little treat, of course, and are $20, or $5 with your own kit! RSVP today for your spot! See you soon! Wow, I have had a TON of fun putting together the sample for our March class - a small tabletop topiary made using our new Spiral Flower Die! I've been seeing a few versions around that I really liked - I tried to incorporate my favorite elements from all of them - like touches of tulle, jumbo pearls, lacy bows - dreamy! I will be prepping like a mad-woman for you all again - see how I love you?! I promise that the project is totally doable in our time-frame, you know how I like us to be relaxed and snacking! Now, I left my sample white (Wedding Present!) but YOU will be able to color yours whatever color you want, with a color mister, or even a Smooch Spritzer, if you like - here's a little pink flower I tinted for you so you can get the idea... Quick and easy! You could even do multiple colors - I have some really sweet sample pictures of what that could look like... All you will need for class is a hot glue gun, and a bone folder if you have one! All other supplies provided - $25. So, RSVP now for Thursday, March 20, 630 pm, chez Heroldt! As always, snacks, drinks and merriment will abound! Those that would prefer a day class, just let me know, and I will set one up that works for you! PS. While I was at it, I totally couldn't resist trying out this idea I also saw for using the spiral to make pine cones, too - how adorable is this? I totally see these in our holiday future, lol... Like how I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make it look all snow-kissed? Yes, I AM wearing glitter today, lol! Oh wow, I have had so much fun making the sample of the Burlap & Blooms Wreath Kit that we planned on for our February class - you guys are going to love it! Super easy, without being TOO easy, if you know what I mean! I tried to stick to the basic kit mostly, for our sample, but I did slip a little, with a few extras already (mostly the bird and some butterflies, and well, ok, a couple spiral flowers so we can start practicing those for our March class, but that's IT!) , and I have lots of ideas for more, that will be available for you here to choose from! I'm so excited for you to make this project! So, our official class announcement is a bit early, because I'm going to a special treat of fancy taiko drumming on our usual date, sorry, so, class is announced for Thursday, February 27th, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, yummy treats and snacks waiting for you, of course! All materials and kits provided for you for $20, but you'll want to bring a bone folder and your hot glue gun for sure, if you have one. RSVP NOW to let me know you are coming, so I can make sure to have your kit waiting! And of course, let me know if you prefer a daytime class, and we will set it up! I know you've all been waiting with baited breath to see our first project of the year! I'm pleased to report that your many requests have been answered! This month, I though we'd try a version of the Father's Day "endless calendar" you all like so much, that sits down on my kitchen counter - what do you think?? I've shown a fairly naked version here - you will also have options to add ribbons and other decor, as you desire, to add a little more zing, but this is also sturdy and simple enough that it'd make good man-gift as is, too... Check out all the months below! I have prepped my buns off so that completion of this project is indeed possible in one night, so I hope you'll be there! RSVP NOW for the Flip Calendar Class, on Thursday, Jan 23, 630 pm, chez Heroldt. Class is $20 and includes all the supplies you need, except for your adhesive of choice! I will say, though, if you have a Crop-O-Dile, you might want to bring it for extra hole punching power! I have two, though, so no one will go without! There will be gifts and treats, of course, to help ring in the New Crafting Year! And if you need a day-time class, be sure to let me know, I'm always happy to add one, you know! PS. I have the dates I plan on offering the rest of this year's classes all set for you, and ideas for a our next couple of classes, too! Bring your ideas if there's something you want us to try! Is it beginning to look like Christmas at your house yet? It is in my office at least, lol! For our November class, I really wanted to showcase all the awesome packaging options that Stampin' Up! is offering this year, and just a few ways to dress them up even more! You will go home from this class with a sample of every option we have this year, plus extra ideas for alternative uses and add-ons (can you say "cupcake insert"??) for all your yummy gifting this year. Now you can plan your candy and baking strategy for the season! I couldn't even fit everything in the picture for you to see! And all still for $20!! So, class is now announced for Wednesday, November 20, 10 am, chez Heroldt, for day-class, and Thursday, November 21, 630 pm, also chez Heroldt, for evening. RSVP now for your spot! Hope you'll come visit me - I'll be setting up a "Handmade by Heather" booth at Mountainview Presbyterian's 23rd Annual Holiday Gift & Mission Marketplace - can't wait to see you there! Hope I'm right in front of the cinnamon rolls again, lol! Come for the food, come for the fun, come for the fabulous shopping - they bring it all in one place, with style and love! This year's Boutique is Friday, Nov 22, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, Nov 23, 9 am to 3 pm. Come get your cinnamon rolls for Thanksgiving! (Click on the picture for a printable flyer!) I have been waiting for our October class since our Holiday Catty first came out - now's our time to finally play with the Simply Created Build A Banner kit! Woo! I wanted to make it a little Autumn, but still simple enough to hang up year-round if one wanted - and I dressed it up with some exclusive accessories from the Simply Created Thankful Tablescape kit, too! Let me just tell you - that birch-bark paper is SO COOL!
You get lots of personalization choices, as usual, but as much work as I could do for you ahead of time, I have done - to give you the most time to play! I think the banner kit is worth it for the stencils alone... So, our class is scheduled for 630 PM, Thursday, October 24, chez Heroldt, or, for my day-larks, 10 am on Friday October 25, also chez Heroldt! $20 includes all supplies, treats and snacks, but you might want to bring your own hot-glue gun. RSVP today, so I can make sure to have your supplies ready! |
