![]() I really like this clean landscape layout at this week's SU-per Challenge #82. I know I only just squeezed in my top layer by doing this, but I decided to leave my card as a standard card base, so I didn't have to make an envelope, too. So lazy! I'm still happy with how this came out - these colors play so well together! I even remembered to put a white panel inside against the dark base. I know JUST who I'm sending this to! You're Wonderful Stamp Set; Garden Green & Whisper White CS; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Garden Green, Calypso Coral & Pistachio Pudding Inks; Corner Rounder Punch; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() Mother's Day Corsage Class I am so excited to announce this class - and I'm THRILLED with how our project came out! You will be, too! This month we will be making a beautiful corsage for that special lady in your life: Mom, BFF, inspiration in your life (maybe even yourself - you deserve it!) - to wear again and again. The corsage is made up with a sample of each flower type in the gorgeous Build A Bouquet Project kit from our Occasions Mini catalog, and comes with a hat pin and stopper for fixing in place. I have prepped each kit for us, and divvied everything out ahead of time to make this class ride on rails: I'll be working right along with you to help further explain all the tricks I learned along the way! Class is announced for Thursday April 9, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, or Saturday, April 11, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. Class is $20, and includes all supplies and instructions, plus snacks, drinks and a gift! Just bring your usual kit, and a hot glue gun! RSVP now so I can make sure to have your supplies prepped and ready for you! (And be sure to let me know if you need different dates - I'm always happy to work with your schedule!)

![]() OK, I have one word for this week's Nacho Average Challenge #133 - SPRIGHTLY! Cute, cute, CUTE! This seemed like such a happy sketch, I wanted to make sure I did it cheery honor - so out came Ray of Sunshine! I tried to mix up my yellows a bit for more variety, and of course, I used my shortest "rays" to try and fit the sketch better. I'm really happy with how this all came together, especially after I had to fussy cut all my rays, lol. Ray of Sunshine Stamp Set; Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry & Daffodil Delight Inks; Banners Framelits; Circle Card Thinlets; Cloudy Day Embossing Folder; 1 3/4" Circle Punch; Neutrals Candy Dots in Smoky Slate. ![]() Pumpkin Club March 28! Good thing, too, because we have another fabulous sketch this week at Fab Friday #60! Now, I know it's the first day of spring, but I was feeling a bit monochrome, you know what I mean? I LOVE this DSP Something Borrowed - the whole suite is just GOR-geous! I have to confess, though, I really sweated this sketch - I dithered for at least two hours, lol! Hopefully I still managed some inspiration for you, because I can't wait to see your Fab creations! I think I'll try to CASE the layout, so I can sneak in Just Add Ink #254's awesome color challenge, too! Since I wanted to use my new Lovely Amazing You stamp set, I ended up having to turn the card landscape, so I could get my envelopes image to fit. That's OK! I think it still works! Having four colors to play with made it so I could do one envelope each in a different color, too - yay! It's like we planned it together! It was also fun to trot out my new In Color accessories - the button and heavy twine. I will say, that heavy twine is WAY softer than I expected - so nice to work with! Lovely Amazing You Stamp Set; Baked Brown Sugar, Tangelo Twist & Whisper White CS; Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive, Tangelo Twist & Mossy Meadow Inks; Pretty Print Embossing Folder; Wide Oval Punch; White Baker's Twine; Mossy Meadow Heavy Twine; Mossy Meadow & Tangelo Twist Buttons; Striped Satin Ribbon in Mossy Meadow & Tangelo Twist; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() It's time for take two on Clean & Simple #2 - such a fun idea to restart their long string of historical sketches!Let's see how it goes with the lovely color challenge at Can You Case It #60, too! Boy, did I dither on this one, lol. This color challenge really hits on ones I don't have a lot of supplies for, sadly. Finally I realized that our Painted Blooms DSP has Wild Wasabi in it, and I found some So Saffron ribbon in the retired box. I feel unsure if my "cut-out" word shows up enough - that Soft Sky is SO hard to bring out! Still, I think it's a pretty card... Crazy About You Stamp Set; Painted Blooms DSP; Whisper White& Soft Sky CS; Wild Wasabi Ink; 7/8" Grosgrain in So Saffron (retired); Circle Card & Hello You Thinlets; White Baker's Twine; White Te Lace Doilies; Basic Jewel Jumbo Rhinestone (retired.) ![]() Hello Life Kit Class March 14! So, it's hard not to look at all that pink, and NOT think flamingo, lol. So out came Flamingo Lingo to go with my new and much-beloved squiggles! I added a couple touches of silver, too, to go with that pretty water reflection element at Just Add Ink. This turned out to be a quick card, too, but it kept me smiling! Flamingo Lingo and Snuggles & Smooches Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Melon Mambo & Whisper White Craft Inks; Silver Embossing Powder; Bitty Banners Framelits; Petite Petals Punch; 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in Melon Mambo; 1/8" Silver Ribbon; Neutrals Candy Dot in Basic Black. ![]() Hello Life Kit Class March 12 or 14! Sigh, yes. Let's try to mix it up by adding this lovely color challenge from In{k}spire Me #188! As usual, to start, I decided to take a browse through the stamp shelves and see if I could find something I haven't used yet - and I hit the jackpot! While I have used the fun Well Worded set, I haven't used the flower image yet. I felt like that could possibly fit in my color scheme, too. For the sentiment I wanted something long and skinny, and this thought from Simply Wonderful seemed made to pair with the image I chose - score! I feel like I've ended up with a super simple and sweet card for a friend, with just a couple of dress-up touches and dimension - perfect! And look at that, this week's sketch at Can You Case It? is a #59, too! Let's throw that in there for company! So, looking over my Sale-A-Bration sets, it occurred to me I haven't used this sweet little bird yet. I got to thinking, how would I color this birdie with this week's challenge colors? Is it doable? Why YES it is! At least, I think so, lol... The rest is kind of an assemblage of elements I had in the right colors - pieces of DSP from a couple places (is it snowing where my birdie is?) some ribbon, you know, you do what you gotta do! In the end, I really like how it came out! Can't wait to see you over at Fab Friday! RSVP to reserve your kit today! ![]() Here's a fun sketch at this week's Retro Sketch #155 - love this large focal shape running off the edge! I knew I wanted to give that "off the edge" element a try, so the first thing I did was cut my card base down to 7 1/2" x 5 1/2", and scored across the short side at 3 3/4". This would give me 1/2" of space to run off the top edge, and still fit in a regular envelope. All that worked out, I went hunting for my image. I settled on Blended Bloom, and, well, got out my most recent blendies. I feel a little bad about it, because I know that SU! has turned off ordering for these while they complete investigation of some quality issues even more recently uncovered. This thought reminded me how blessed I myself have been to not have had any of these issues, so I next went to Banner Blessings for my sentiment, lol. See how my mind works? So for everyone still chomping at the bit over blendies, remember the thought celebrated on today's card, hee hee, and recognize SU!'s love for us in turn, while they work on making our experience a better one all 'round. Hang in there, dear ones! It might take a while, but I feel sure that Blendies Will Return! Blended Bloom & Banner Blessings Stamp Sets; Old Olive & Whisper White CS; Park Lane DSP; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pink Pirouette & Daffodil Delight Blendies; Spring Flowers Embossing Folder. ![]() Hello Life Kit Class March 12 or 14! I think it will go great with this week's tangy color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge #130! Now, I think my brain must be wired to see these colors as autumnal. Maybe because we don't really get Fall where I live in AZ! I tried a couple things to pull this out of that season, lol, but in the end, this card made me happiest, so there we go. I have to admit, though, I'm excited to get to indulge my "for all seasons" dreams with this stamp set so early! We are all so lucky I don't stamp with this set, Sheltering Tree, every day of the week! This time 'round, I am particularly pleased with how I made my rake "lean" on the tree trunk: I cut down a dimensional for the rake tines, but glued the handle down with a tiny speck of glue. I think it really adds a touch of dimension in a fun way...
