![]() I know the whole reason I got this stamp set was for the big ole LOBSTER in it, but when I saw the Paper Craft Crew Sketch #26 (with another color challenge, sigh) I decided to trot it out. I planned to do a nice pink lobster on this, but, er, it somehow just didn't look right [sob] so I went with the shell. We'll save the lobster for another day (and color challenge!) By The Tide & Loving Thoughts stamp sets; Bashful Blue & Whisper White CS; Subtles & Brights DSP stacks; Borders Simply Scored plate; 2 1/2" Circle punch, self-adhesive pearls.

![]() ARRRGH! How could they do this to me?? My first official Team Cherry Cobbler Sketch submission for Paper Craft Crew, and it also includes a color challenge!! And it was WEIRD! (Sorry, Pam!) After sleeping on this one for like a week, I came up with this, and it actually didn't come out too bad, if I do say so myself! Pam, you're off the hook! Tea cups make everything OK, almost as much as chickens! Tea Shoppe stamp set; Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Old Olive & Very Vanilla CS; Basic Gray DSP from the Neutrals stack; Delicate Designs embossing folder; Postage Stamp & 1" Square punches; Bitty Banners framelits; Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain; Button from the Neutrals collection. ![]() ...I know they do. Thank you, Retro Sketches #42. Secret Garden & Bloomin' Marvelous stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Primrose Petals CS; Print Poetry DSP pack; Secret Garden framelits; Large Oval punch; Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals & Summer Starfruit inks; Natural Trim ribbon. ![]() I know we're spoiled here in Arizona. Especially in winter. I think about it every time I say to myself, "Gosh, it's only 65 degrees, I better grab my scarf!" I think my skin gets thinner every year I'm here! So today, winter in AZ looks like a dreary drizzly day - rain is such a novelty here! When I saw Freshly Made Sketch #65, I realized it was a perfect day to break in one of my Spring Mini catalog sets, called Rain or Shine - pretty appropriate, right? And of course, the new embossing folder Cloudy Day had to come out, too... Stay warm and dry friends! Break out the eggnog! Rain or Shine stamp set; Whisper White & Pool Party CS; More Amore Specialty DSP; Raspberry Ripple, So Saffron & Chocolate Chip inks; Cloudy Day embossing folder; self-adhesive rhinestones. ![]() I was feeling the need to break out of the Christmas colors for this week's Retro Sketch #38 - I NEED SOME PURPLE! I was embarrassed to realize that this stamp set somehow made it to the shelf without seeing any ink yet, either - woops! Can't have that! It was a fun morning playing with my markers, too! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE color?? For the Birds & Bright Blossoms stamp sets; Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White CS; Summer Smooches DSP; Brights button; Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon. ![]() It's been a tough week around here - I'm still standing, but woo, treading water is starting to wear on me! You know what you gotta do when it's like that? Go to the chickens. Instant pick-me-up, with lots of clucking. And coloring. VERY therapeutic! All my sketch gurus have to get clucked at least once, anyway - Fab Friday 03, it's just your turn! Best of Cluck (retired) & Chicken Wire (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Basic Gray, Real Red and More Mustard CS; Labels Collection framelits. ![]() I made this card for my visit today to see Barb after her surgery yesterday - dear lady, I can't wait to see you myself! You should be swimming in prayers this week! I decided to tackle my square card phobia while I was at it, and of course, we had to have some of Barb's favorite color, Calypso Coral! Be well, sweet lady - we can't wait to have you on your feet again... Up, Up & Away & Send Me Soaring (retired) stamp sets; Pool Party, Whisper White, Calypso Coral & So Saffron CS; ruffled ribbon in Calypso Coral; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; Labels Collection framelits; Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder & Lucky Limeade inks. ![]() So here's the card I put together for the Clean & Simple #207 sketch - the colors look much brighter in this picture than they do in person! I was aiming for a very delicate and faded look, but apparently Nikon prefers to go for the gusto! I seem to be on a trend of turning these sketches sideways, which is strange to me, because I used to haunt a couple sketch blogs before I tried them myself, and I really used to be amazed at the people who could turn the sketches every which way! I always thought it would be something I couldn't do, but it seems to happen naturally, after all! I was really happy to use these stamp sets - and use the exact stamps that were the reasons I got these sets! I love the dogwood sprig, wish I had occasion to use it more, and that sentiment just makes my heart happy! Blessings to everyone! Soft Summer (retired) & Plant Hope (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette & So Saffron CS; matching inks with a touch of Close to Cocoa (retired) for the branches. ![]() OK, I had to sit on the latest sketch from Clean & Simple #205 for a bit before it started speaking to me. And I think it might still have been speaking in tongues! So, I decided to test a little theory I have - that chickens can make everything all right! There are days when I just need some coloring therapy, know what I mean? Besides, the chickens missed me! Best of Cluck (retired) & Chicken Wire (retired) stamp sets; Real Red, More Mustard & Whisper White CS; silver embossing powder. ![]() Here's my take on Retro Sketches #26 - simple, offset - it was harder than it looked! I still feel like my card has come out a little TOO simple, but I was trying to resist the urge to over-embellish, so I thought I'd just stop here... I might have to take another stab at this sketch before I'm happy! At least I was able to tap into my Color Coach fro some unexpected color combos for Cajun Craze! Al Punto (Easy Events) & Sweet Summer (retired) stamp sets; Cajun Craze, Old Olive & Very Vanilla CS; Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, matching markers, self-adhesive pearls. |
