![]() Sa-WEET! I love banners! So I love this week's Mojo Monday #378, of course! After a VERY brief attempt to resist, I broke down and inked up my new Valentines set, You Plus Me. I was going to try and hold off, but per usual, I have so many cute new toys to play with, I can't stop now! And I have to admit, the elements all seemed made for this sketch... The color combo is so interesting to me on this one - Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Real Red - and it totally works! You Plus Me (Occasions 2015_ Stamp Set; Stacked With Love DSP Stack; Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Real Red & Whisper White CS; Calypso Coral & Real Red Inks; Happy Heart Embossing Folder; Banners Collection & Circles Collection Framelits; Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

![]() Holy smokes - did you see the DT offerings over at Freshly Made #119? So many fun cards, with this whimsical angle they've introduced... So, I had a new stamp set sitting on my desk, and decided to go the Valentine's route. But my retired Sending Love Specialty DSP is still on top of my retired stack by my desk - I think I should make a point of changing that daily, because it definitely has an influence on color schemes for me! I hate to put the retired papers completely out of sight, because then I forget to use them up, but when they sit out like that, I can't help but get pulled in - argh! Maybe we just need a new Valentine's DSP, lol! Well, off to re-order the stack - hm, Rockabilly? Love You More stamp set; Very Vanilla, Real Red, Chocolate Chip & Pretty In Pink (retired) CS; VersaMark, Real Red, Chocolate Chip & Strawberry Slush inks; White Embossing Powder; Hearts A Flutter Framelits; Adorning Accents Embossing Folder. ![]() Don't forget - there's still time to RSVP for the first stamp class of the year - our Flip Calendar Class will be Thursday, Jan 23, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, with snacks and cheer! Hope to see you there! ![]() Ahh, I love the sight of Pumpkin in the New Year! Jess is kicking us off with a faBOO theme challenge, too - My Pumpkin Challenge #114 - "You & Me," however you want to show it! This is the perfect time for me to try my hand at some light scrap-booking, NOT something I'm famous for, for sure. However, it's pretty hard to resist with the seriously cute Real Life Journal that came for the December kit! With this You & Me theme, I figure I can use this month to make a sweet little book about us for hubby, just in time for Valentine's Day! Hope you'll follow along with me - I'm pretty nervous to try this! I'm opening with the cover, of course - future entries will show a couple pages at a time! So, what are you and YOUR Pumpkin up to this year?? Paper Pumpkin-Real Life Journal; plus, Perfect Pennants stamp set; Banners framelits; Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie & Summer Starfruit CS; Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush & Versamark inks; Pool Party Embossing Powder; Summer Starfruit Satin Stitched Ribbon; Coastal Cabana & Strawberry Slush Stretch Ruffle Trim; Owl Builder Punch (for the tiny hearts!) ![]() The layout of this week's Freshly Made Sketch #117 really made me go back and take a look at my SAB set See Ya Later - seemed like it was going to make the shapes come out just right! Problem was, I wanted to use the lovey sentiment, and I don't really have a current Valentine's DSP. So we get to mix this with a pretty old (at this point) Specialty DSP for our pink and red flags! I kept this card a simple and straight-forward interpretation of the sketch - pretty cute if I do say so myself! See Ya Later stamp set; Real Red, Very Vanilla & Pretty in Pink (retired) CS; Sending Love Specialty DSP (retired); Red Cotton Perle, Real Red & Chocolate Chip inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; Brights Candy Dots. ![]() OK, I went SUPER minimalist for this week's Retro Sketch #61 - I swear, it's really me, not my evil alien clone, bwahahaha! I can't really explain it, I just saw this clean white field, with tiny splashes of color. And movement, subtle movement. I am resisting mightily adding any bling. (But I bet it would look REAL cute!) I felt like this sentiment went best with the DSP choice - I guess I have a head-start on next year's Valentine's, sigh... A Round Array stamp set; Whisper White & Island Indigo CS; Sent With Love DSP; Real Red, Calypso Coral & Island Indigo inks; Calypso Coral baker's twine; 7/8" Scallop Circle punch. ![]() OK, Paper Craft Crew #29 gets the last of my Valentine's mojo - I'm done! I finally caved and got the adorable whale set - and decided they could be my last hurrah for the year on this - whew! I really wanted to avoid the traditional hearts on the sketch - it was hard to find a different shape that would fit. Got to bring LOTS of new toys for this one - very satisfying! Oh, Whale! & Hearts A Flutter stamp sets; Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP; Marina Mist and Whisper White CS; Red Glimmer Specialty DSP; Hearts A Flutter framelits; Large Delicate Doilies sizzlet; Happy Whale clearlit; Small Heart punch. ![]() Here's a quick picture of our little treats at class last night - all made from that awesome little Valentine Treat Bundle! I filled mine with some yummy cherry jelly hearts - all flavors! Woo! Thanks so much for being in class tonight - whole new meaning to pins and needles, right?? Here are tonight's Hearts A Flutter Valentines Class instructions, as well - enjoy! ![]() OK, you guys can totally blame Lisa V for finding this project for us - she saw a Valentine's version of a clothespin wreath out on Pintarest (where I don't go, to prevent sensory overload!) and sent me a picture to figure out. So, like, ok, 10 minutes later I was on eBay ordering us a giant crate of clothespins! WHAT A COOL PROJECT! The version I saw was by Sharon Cheng - brilliant! I think the part that was coolest was when I realized that if we put it together right, you could, hee hee, make it REVERSIBLE! So that's what we'll be doing. The Valentine's side uses this year's More Amore DSP and Spring Mini 2013 accessories. Sweetness! ![]() The other side I figured we would work ahead a bit to St. Patrick's Day - which I always have a tough time decorating for! This ended up being a mix of all the green DSPs I could dig out of my stash - so fun! SO, the January bonus class will be on January 31, 630 pm here at Chez Heroldt, and will be to make BOTH versions of the clothespin wreaths shown here, all materials provided, $25. I can even throw in some extra ribbon for hanging if you see something that catches your eye! This was so fun to make, and you know I'll do the tedious stuff ahead of time so I can to make it painless and perfect for you! I really worked out a system! There might be other font choices for the words by then, too, I have a couple of new alphabet sets on the way! RSVP for your spot today, so I can make sure to have your wreath base ready! ![]() Oh my GOSH - having a major computer changeover today - argh, so frustrating! One of the first things I wanted to make sure of was that my blog updates could go forward fairly smoothly, and I think I'm almost there! Today's lovely little LOVE card is sponsored by Retro Sketches #45 - good timing, huh? I wanted to try my hand at taking apart some of the beautiful laser cut hearts that come in this year's Valentine's paper - not too tough at all! I also tried out the new Borders plate for the Simply Scored - nifty! We'll definitely have to do some of that! OK, back to the computer transfer trenches - wish me luck! Loving Thoughts & Hearts A Flutter stamp sets; Pool Party, Crumb Cake, & Very Vanilla CS; More Amore Specialty DSP; Real Red & Primrose Petals inks; Hearts A Flutter framelits. ![]() So, I have some cool news to share, and I'm still totally freaked out about it. Last night, I got asked by the lovely Pam Staples over at Sunny Girl Scraps to join the Design Team at Paper Craft Crew!! Woot!! I'm so excited, and VERY nervous, but so SO flattered to be asked to join this gang of creative wonders! I'll post more details as I get more info, but, of course I had to celebrate by participating in their latest Challenge Sketch #23! I figure I better trot out some retired stuff while I still can - once I'm working on the team, I have to be all proper and stick with current toys - hah, what a hardship! Somehow, this old DSP has made its way to the top of the retired stack recently - I have to put it back on the bottom soon, because I miss it too much to ignore sometimes! And the chocolate strawberry? Yeah, like the chickens, I'll be taking that to the grave with me, I promise you... Cross My Heart & PS. I Love You (retired) stamp sets; Sweet Always (retired) DSP; Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS and inks; Hearts framelit collection; Decorative Label , 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches; self adhesive rhinestones, colored with pink sharpie! ![]() Hey, look, here I am being a better demo, too - Stampin' Up! has 2 cute Valentine's offers going on right now to coincide with celebrating the release of the new Spring Mini! Click on the picture to see the full-size flyer - I think we'll be doing some of these for some of our Valentine's cards! Cute and easy, as always, with that Simply Sent kit! It's funny, this kit was one I actually wanted to order myself, and resisted (til now!) Good thing I waited! Check out my sidebar for a link to the online version of the new catalog! |
