![]() I am completely in love with this week's Retro Sketch #57! I love the arrangement of the different shapes and sizes - it was hard to resist doing a chicken version of this card, and I might still need to go back and do that! Instead I pulled out another stamp set that I just didn't use enough, and I used some colors that I'm trying to let go of{sob.} I swear I don't know what I'll do without Lucky Limeade - maybe they'll do a little color renovation this year, and we'll get to keep it! PLEASE! (Alas, the color gods were deaf this time - see below!) Reason to Smile & Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets; Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Large Dots texture plate (retired); Bitty Banners framelits; Calypso Coral & Lucky Limeade inks; Calypso Coral Baker's Twine. 2013 Color Refresh & Free Shipping! ![]() Look how much SU! loves us - they're giving us a head's up on the Color Refresh coming in this year's new catalog - yay! I'm not sure we've ever had this much notice before... You can click on the flyer to the right to get the low-down on the changes - lots of returning In Colors, and we get to keep THREE of this year's outgoing In Colors - awesome! Just not Lucky Limeade {SOB}. There's only one brand spankin' new color - in the neutrals collection - Smoky Slate - it'll be good to have an array of grays back! SU! will again be offering refresh kits for sale to customers starting May 31 - a collection of all 10 pads and a card stock sampler pack, 2 sheets of each new color. There will also be a set of the Refresh markers available separately, as some of the returning In Colors pre-date SU!'s introduction of markers. So what color am I most excited about? I think it has to be Soft Sky - I have horded that color for three years now! Psychic me! The one I'll miss most? I think it's a toss up between Baja Breeze and More Mustard. I definitely use Baja Breeze the most, though, I think that one is the biggest shocker... So, be sure to get stocked up on any of the retiring colors that you can't live without! As of now, all retiring colors are while supplies last. Don't forget to consider your stash of retired and retiring DSP while you think it over - you want to make sure you have enough coordinating card stock to go with! I usually forget to do that, sigh... To go with this exciting news, Stampin' Up! is offering free shipping on EVERYTHING this weekend, April 6-8, three days only! No matter what you spend - what a great chance to get that little item that you keep forgetting to add to your order! Or to save big on a big order! I might have to place a little one myself this weekend!

![]() I hope everyone had a blessed and beautiful Easter this weekend - I sure did! What a celebration! For today's Clean & Simple #234, I decided to do another dressed up card using the Hey There Paper Pumpkin kit supplies. It really is a challenge to look at the supplies and think of what can be added to give it that little extra oomph! For today's version, I decided what we were missing was some purple to go with that little splash of green - yay! My favorite color combo! Moving Forward stamp set; Hey There kit supplies, plus Floral District DSP; Rich Razzleberry & Lucky Limeade CS and inks; self-adhesive Rhinestones. ![]() And here's the April Best Of set - Best of Butterflies! Check out the brand new image that coordinates with the Elegant Butterfly punch! Still $14.95 - get yours today, and earn that free set! ![]() Here I am, once again using a stamp from a set that is NOT the stamp I got it for! I actually got it for that cute little pair of jeans, also in this set. Adorable! But this week's Clean & Simple #232 was intriguing - I wanted to try something off-beat - and I couldn't make the pants fit! And the little band-aid IS cute... Fun layout! Patterned Occasions stamp set; Sahara Sand, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; 1 5/8" Circle punch; White baker's twine; self-adhesive rhinestones. ![]() And it wouldn't be the start of a new week without another promo from Stampin' Up! - a sneak peek from the upcoming 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog! This offer is for a bundle of the new stamp set A Round Array, and its coordinating punch! Already have the punch? You can get just the stamp set, too! Click the picture to go to the full flyer for dates and prices - looks totally cute! Please note, the sneak peak version is only available in clear-mount - wood-mount will be available with the catalog release. ![]() Here's the first card for next week's class - all Easter themes! I had this epiphany - do you realize we haven't actually done any cards yet this year?? Sorry ladies, we have to do at least a few once in a while! I have some great card layouts, new techniques and fun folds planned for you, though - that you can use all year 'round! When we first got the oval framelits, I was already thinking ahead to this card - an Easter Egg Easel card - I figured it would be a good place to bring back the Chocolate Bunny, too! So, our next class is Thursday, March 21, 630 pm, here at Heroldt House! If you need a day-time class, I could do Monday, March 25, 930 am. Make sure to RSVP with which class you prefer so I can prep projects and goodies for you! See you then! ![]() OK, a DARLING sketch from Fabulous Friday #13 this week! I'm really getting excited by these layouts - so easy to keep it simple, or dress it up! I just got the Blue Ribbon stamp set in the mail this week, so this week's layout seemed perfect for breaking it in! Totally cool that you can swap out the sentiment circles, too! I think this one could make a good "guy" card - yay! Blue Ribbon stamp set; Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Real Red & Whisper White CS; Sent With Love DSP; Island Indigo & Real Red inks; 1 3/8" Circle punch; self-adhesive rhinestones. ![]() It's another new month - you know what that means! Here's a quick look at March's "Best of..." set - Best of Flowers. Check out the new image - it punches out with the 1 1/4" scallop circle punch - yay! I love outline stamps, perfect for coloring! Click on the picture for a full-size version of the flyer. ![]() And another new item from SU! - photopolymer stamps! Lisa and I were JUST talking about this the other day, too funny... We must be PSYCHIC! Or is that psycho? I get mixed up... Here's the deets: We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options. What makes them so great?
![]() Boy, the timing on this one was great - I just got an order in, that had the intriguing Sent With Love bundle in it. The top sheet of the DSP pack is COVERED with little arrows, badges, seals and tags, and I thought, oo, you could cut all these little pieces out, and really do something with them! Then I took a good look at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #75, and an idea was born! I kinda feel like this is a cheater card - I had to go back and add the little airplane so there would be some kind of stamped element on it! Too cool! Think I'll put this one in the "graduation" box... Sent With Love stamp set; Calypso Coral & Whisper White CS; Sent With Love DSP; Calypso Coral baker's twine; Real Red ink; self-adhesive rhinestone. ![]() And here they go again! Stampin' Up! is proud to announce another new venture - online classes! The following topics are covered in the class: Basic Stamping, Embossing, Masking, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Watercoloring & Markers, and Big Shot & Punch Basics. Need a little boost? Give the new online classes a try! ![]() OK, here's the other shadow box we'll be doing in next week's class - finally, an insert for April! I knew we needed to use the cute little umbrellas, and the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP to go with is just perfect! This insert is made using as many punches and dies as we can, so we have all the time we need on that St. Patrick punch art on the other insert... So, don't forget to RSVP for Thursday, Feb 21, 630 pm, for a fun Spring decor class! ![]() Here's our first of two projects for next week's class (Thursday, February 21, 630 pm, $20, all materials provided, don't forget to RSVP!) I decided it was time to fill in some Spring holes in our shadow box collection! This first one, obviously, is for St Patrick's Day, and should go great with the "other side" of our clothespin wreaths! My version shows pretty much EVERY option I came up with, I couldn't seem to stop (go figure, right?), but you can do as much or as little detail as you like - fun stuff! It'll be good to have a little Saint on my hall table! Keep an eye out for our other project - an April Showers theme! ![]() OK, here's my second stab at Freshly Made Sketch #71 - I like it much better! I did want to try to break out of a color rut I feel like I've been in lately, and I really wanted to play with some of my new(er) toys more... This feels much more balanced to me! And it never hurts to restock the scripture cards! Secret Garden & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 5 stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple CS; Print Poetry DSP stack; Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple & Lucky Limeade inks; Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon; Linen thread; Slot punch (retired); Secret Garden framelits; self-adhesive jumbo Pearl. ![]() And to go with, just in time for February, here's the "Best of Love" set now available! Click on the picture for a full size flyer - love that little olive! Did I mention that for every 6 sets of these that you buy, you get to send in a Collectors Card for a free stamp set of your choice worth up to $14.95? I started mine! ![]() Hm, I feel like I've made a Fresh Cup of Thanks before! Oh well! This week's Freshly Made Sketch #71 seems to like caffeine! This one was tough for me - I have another arrangement of this card that I'll be burning later, and I'm not entirely satisfied with this one, but it's closer! I was trying to make the tag and the shape "work together," but it looks a bit weird to me... Might have to take another crack at this sketch later! Tea Shoppe stamp set; Whisper White, So Saffron, Crumb Cake & Perfect Plum CS; Subtles DSP stack; Certainly Celery grosgrain; self-adhesive pearls; Modern Label punch; Movers & Shapers dies. ![]() AND, check out February's stamp promotion!
