![]() OK, you guys can totally blame Lisa V for finding this project for us - she saw a Valentine's version of a clothespin wreath out on Pintarest (where I don't go, to prevent sensory overload!) and sent me a picture to figure out. So, like, ok, 10 minutes later I was on eBay ordering us a giant crate of clothespins! WHAT A COOL PROJECT! The version I saw was by Sharon Cheng - brilliant! I think the part that was coolest was when I realized that if we put it together right, you could, hee hee, make it REVERSIBLE! So that's what we'll be doing. The Valentine's side uses this year's More Amore DSP and Spring Mini 2013 accessories. Sweetness! ![]() The other side I figured we would work ahead a bit to St. Patrick's Day - which I always have a tough time decorating for! This ended up being a mix of all the green DSPs I could dig out of my stash - so fun! SO, the January bonus class will be on January 31, 630 pm here at Chez Heroldt, and will be to make BOTH versions of the clothespin wreaths shown here, all materials provided, $25. I can even throw in some extra ribbon for hanging if you see something that catches your eye! This was so fun to make, and you know I'll do the tedious stuff ahead of time so I can to make it painless and perfect for you! I really worked out a system! There might be other font choices for the words by then, too, I have a couple of new alphabet sets on the way! RSVP for your spot today, so I can make sure to have your wreath base ready!

![]() OK, I freely admit, I don't know what's up with my color eye these days - I think I'm rebelling a bit against anything Christmas or Valentine-y - I want to make everything purple! This is another one for Mom's set - with a little help from Clean & Simple #223. Nifty layout! Gently Falling & Blessings From Heaven stamp sets; Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Vine Street embossing folder. ![]() And a quick announcement! Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep. Just think of the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family-every month! Visit the site for details! ![]() Hi Everyone! Here's the completed ensemble for next week's class - a Valentine's party! We'll be making the Standing Tags banner that says "I Love You," a kanzashi necklace and pin set, and a cute card. I have a couple different necklace options for you to choose from - this sample shows a wire collar style. So, class is next Thursday, January 17, 630 pm here at the house. If you haven't already, make sure to RSVP so I can have your supplies ready for you! Right now, I plan on a bonus class for January 31, to make a new wreath for the front door, or for inside - pictures soon and Save the Date! ![]() So, I have some cool news to share, and I'm still totally freaked out about it. Last night, I got asked by the lovely Pam Staples over at Sunny Girl Scraps to join the Design Team at Paper Craft Crew!! Woot!! I'm so excited, and VERY nervous, but so SO flattered to be asked to join this gang of creative wonders! I'll post more details as I get more info, but, of course I had to celebrate by participating in their latest Challenge Sketch #23! I figure I better trot out some retired stuff while I still can - once I'm working on the team, I have to be all proper and stick with current toys - hah, what a hardship! Somehow, this old DSP has made its way to the top of the retired stack recently - I have to put it back on the bottom soon, because I miss it too much to ignore sometimes! And the chocolate strawberry? Yeah, like the chickens, I'll be taking that to the grave with me, I promise you... Cross My Heart & PS. I Love You (retired) stamp sets; Sweet Always (retired) DSP; Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS and inks; Hearts framelit collection; Decorative Label , 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches; self adhesive rhinestones, colored with pink sharpie! ![]() Hey, look, here I am being a better demo, too - Stampin' Up! has 2 cute Valentine's offers going on right now to coincide with celebrating the release of the new Spring Mini! Click on the picture to see the full-size flyer - I think we'll be doing some of these for some of our Valentine's cards! Cute and easy, as always, with that Simply Sent kit! It's funny, this kit was one I actually wanted to order myself, and resisted (til now!) Good thing I waited! Check out my sidebar for a link to the online version of the new catalog! ![]() As a newly-minted parent-of-a-teenager, it has been made very (VERY) clear to me that THE gift of choice from the 'rental units is gift cards. And not from Starbucks as shown in my sample, sigh. I-Tunes, Amazon, Justice, yes. Starbucks? Sur la Table? Not so much. Ah well. (See how I dropped in my own sneaky preferences there? I'm so sneaky...) I figure if we must succumb to the siren call of the ubiquitous gift card, we can still satisfy our creative callings by dressing them up a bit! This year's well-dressed gift card will come in this simple - but always cute! - "latched" card holder - which still has room for a heart-felt note (perhaps of warning on what NOT to spend it on? Just sayin'...) on the inside. We CAN have it all! Santa wants it that way, too! Almost to the end of the Gifts Class offerings - can't wait to see you all! ![]() During the Online Extravaganza Sale Stampin' Up! recently had, I finally broke down and picked up this stamp set, Come to Bethlehem. It's been on my list for a while, and the sale price finally pushed me over the edge. I have been fiddling with this card all afternoon - I feel like it might still be missing something, but since this sketch is for Clean &Simple's #219, I figure I better stick with "less is more" for now! Maybe add some Smooch Spritz in silver? I can't decide... I made these cards with my church's Fine Arts committee in mind - hopefully it will inspire our decorating meeting coming up soon! Come to Bethlehem stamp set; Brushed Silver, Basic Grey, Midnight Muse & Whisper White CS; Silver Glimmer specialty DSP; self-adhesive rhinestones; Scallop Trim Border & Corner Rounder punches. ![]() Also, I just got this note from SU!, just in case anyone was interested... ![]() Well, I guess I'm pretty into Paper Craft Crew sketches now - I keep going back to check what they have and then I can't say no! Like this week's sketch #18 - what a great chance to do some fussy layering, and use up odd-sized scraps - especially of stuff from my slowly shrinking retired DSP stash! Getting there on that, at least... PS. Make sure to go check out the new Customer Creative Stampin Up! website - with feeds from new SU! blogs, Pinterest, Facebook and more! Now there's a way for you to join a creative community of fellow stampers through SU! Daydream Medallions & Curly Cute stamp sets; Razzleberry Lemonade (retired) DSP; Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White CS; Floral Frames framelits; self-adhesive rhinestones. ![]() So, here are some samples of the 4 ornaments we will be doing in next week's "Holiday Ornaments" class! I wanted to do a mix of simple and ornate, quick and a bit of time, and 4 very different styles, as well as show off some of the awesome Holiday tools from the catty before we move along to Spring! I think we've achieved that! We'll talk about ways to adapt these ornaments to any color arrangements you like, how to use stamping instead of DSP for even more POP and how to go from here to making the lovely creations on the front and inside the Holiday Mini catalog! I promise that you'll be happy with your results (though you might have slightly sticky fingers here and there!) Glue guns will be a must for this class, so make sure to bring one you're comfortable with! Everything else will be supplied, along with yummy treats, of course! Class is on Thursday, Nov 29, 630 pm, my house, and will cost $20. As always, make sure to RSVP, so I can be sure to prep enough! ![]() What a versatile layout Freshly Made Sketch #59 is this week! It reminds me of the "inchies" I used to do so many of, sigh... THIS time 'round, though, I decided to go for a card that I have wanted to do for a LONG time - a color scheme and design based on the quilt in my bedroom - it's so organic! And of course, this sketch came just in time to celebrate Lisa V's birthday - have a great day, sweet lady! You deserve all the best! And chocolate! Lots of chocolate! BTW, Stampin' Up! has released this special issue of the demo magazine "Stampin' Success" just for customers - check it out! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set; Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla & Soft Suede CS; Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon; Little Leaves sizzlet; Modern label punch w/ accompanying Movers & Shapers die; Festival of Prints DSP; paper-piercing punch pack. |
